Norway News and Form – Can Norwegians collect three important home points??

Norway are in a tough Euro 2020 qualification group. They do have a cushion behind them though. That’s because they won their Nations League group, so will go to the Euro 2020 qualification playoffs if they can’t lock down an automatic qualification place from this group. It is a W1 D2 L1 record that Norway have collected so far in this campaign. They opened with a narrow 2-1 defeat against Spain, then played out back-to-back draws against Romania and Sweden.

Norway got their first win of the group in a 2-0 victory at the Faroe Islands in their last fixture. In total, the Norwegians have posted eight goals in their four games and they have netted at least two in each of their last three. Their recent win over the Faroe islands snapped a six-match winless streak of European Championship qualifiers that they were on (D2 L4). So they badly needed that win. Can they now start to build some positive, winning momentum? Norway are W3 D3 L1 in their last six qualifiers on home soil.

Malta News and Form – Can Malta win first-ever road qualifier?

Malta won their opening game of qualification, a 2-1 win over the Faroe Islands. It hasn’t quite gone so well for them since then. They have lost their following three games against Spain, Sweden and Romania. They are still on the hunt for their first clean sheet of this qualification campaign as well, having conceded 10 goals in total in their four games.

The last time that Malta won an away game (competitive or friendly) was back in 2017. They are on a winless streak of D2 L8 since then away from home. Malta have never won a European Championship qualification away fixture. They have though been finding the back of the net in their away games. Malta have scored in three of their last four road fixtures and in four of their last six.

Norway v Malta Predictions

Norway to win: It is just worth pushing out to a solid Norway to win to nil option. A 3-0 correct score looks about right really. Malta have conceded exactly three goals in all but one of their last four road games. Norway needs to win this game as they have some much tougher fixtures still to come.
