Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League play off second leg between Celtic and Astana out in Kazakhstan sees the Scottish Champions hold a commanding lead. The Bhoys destroyed their opponents 5-0 in the first leg at Celtic Park and they can pretty much coast to the group stage on Tuesday night. Last season in the third round of the Champions League play offs, Celtic took a 3-2 nail-biting aggregate win over Astana.
They are much more comfortable this time around. While this is great for Celtic, for any Rangers fans it must be a bitter pill to swallow seeing your biggest rivals being so successful. Rangers are already five points adrift of Celtic in the new season of the Scottish Premiership and they were dumped out of Europa League qualifying by Luxembourg minnows Progrès Niederkorn. Plus they have watched Celtic collect the Scottish league title in each of the last six seasons.
