PDC Darts World Championship 2020 Second Quarter Winner Odds & Predictions

Heavy-scoring Bully Boy to take the second quarter?

Darts Betting

The second quarter at the PDC Darts World Championship is a fascinating one. It looks as if it could be a wide-open affair. You have former World Champion Gary Anderson in the mix, but it’s been such a difficult year for him, that he’s not likely to get heavily into the frame.

Former World Champion Adrian Lewis is kncoking around in the section too. Runner up at the last World Championships to Michael van Gerwen, Michael Smith is also in there and the Englishman is a narrow favourite to win this section.

Bully Boy Smith leads the quarter

After fighting his way to a berth in the final of the last edition of the PDC Darts World Championship, Michael Smith naturally is going to be heading this section. If you stack up the season that the Liverpudlian has had against that of Gary Anderson, then they really should be much wider apart in the odds, with stronger favouritism on Bully Boy Smith.

He proved at the last edition that he has the ability and he does have big appeal in this quarter. There has been further progress made by Smith this year as he was runner up at the World Matchplay and his recent form included runs to the final four of the Champions League and European Championship.

The Asp to threaten?

The only man to have fired off more 180’s in televised events this year than Smith is Michael van Gerwen. For the tournament, Smith is a great 6/1 option to record the highest tally of maximums* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on December 11th, 2019 at 1:45 pm). Former two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis is in this quarter but doesn’t look to be a big threat.

The best outside option in terms of odds has to be 12th seed Nathan Aspinall who is on the up. Back in March, he claimed the UK Open title, his first televised crown and he took out both Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross in the latter stages of the event to get the breakthrough. Aspinall took a 2-1 head to head record against Michael van Gerwen in the calendar year as well and is a solid 5/1 option to contend for the quarter* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on December 11th, 2019 at 1:45 pm).
