A Sky Bet punter was celebrating the New Year in some style after banking just over £32,000 from a £5 stake on an accumulator. There was a dramatic finish to the bet though, with Reading coming through in stoppage time to turn the acca into a winner.
It was a sevenfold accumulator that the punter had played, backing Cardiff, Reading, Gillingham, Coventry, Bristol Rovers, Northampton and Middlesbrough all to win to nil on January 2nd. Six of the selections were in good standing with the clock running down, but the Royals were being held 0-0 by Bristol City.
But then, Nick Blackman slotted home a late winner in stoppage time of the contest to give Reading a 1-0 win to help the punter turn his £5 into £32,124.69.
