Turkey News and Form – Can Turkey keep up the pressure on France?

Turkey are level at the top of Group H with France, and their qualification push was helped along massively by a win over the French at home earlier in the campaign. So that gives them the head to head tie-breaker advantage over their main rivals. It means that when the two meet later in the group, Turkey will only need to draw. Anyway, it is a W5 L1 record from Turkey so far, the one-loss that they suffered happening in Iceland back in June.

Albania News and Form – Can Albania pull off a shock?

Albania are not likely to make it into the top two. They have so much ground to make up that even a win in this one wouldn’t make all that much difference. But still, the door is open for them, albeit narrowly. Albania have taken a W3 L3 record in the group so far and they did have a good success at home against Iceland in their most recent qualifier, a 4-2 win. Before that, they had gone to France and have lost 4-1, Albania getting their goal through a last minute spot kick.

It has been back to back away defeats in the group for Albania, before that though they had put together a five-match winning streak in Euro qualifiers away from home. That sequence of positive form included a superb win over Portugal and a draw in Denmark.
