Australia and Honduras will lock horns once again on Wednesday night when the second leg of this intercontinental World Cup qualifiers shifts to Australia, with the venue being the ANZ Stadium for this crucial decider.
Australia registered what could be a vital result in Honduras on the weekend by avoiding defeat in a 0-0 draw in the first leg, and the Socceroos now look to have the upper hand over their CONCACAF opponents with home advantage on their side.

However, the Aussies have never really been prolific goal scorers, and this fixture holds a significant amount of importance.

For their part, Honduras have suffered just two defeats from their last 11 matches overall, while in their CONCACAF section, they’d put together a five match sequence without defeat which helped them claim the intercontinental play-off spot, which included wins over Trinidad & Tobago and a 3-2 home win over Mexico in the final group match.
However, the Hondurans have tended not to travel too well with just two wins from their last nine matches on the road, so they’re expected to attempt to keep things tight here and hope to hit Australia either on the counter or from a set-piece.
Either way, I believe this will be another tight, low-scoring affair.
