Celtic Preview – Will Celtic bounce back after defeat last time out?
Ange Postecoglou’s first experience of the Glasgow derby ended in defeat with Celtic losing 1-0 to Rangers at Ibrox last month. It’s Celtic’s second defeat of the league season and both of them have come away from home. Add to that two defeats on the road in Europe and there are some concerns that this new-look Celtic team are struggling to find the right sort of approach (or have the mentality required) to win on their travels.
It’s very much in contrast to their form at Celtic Park which has been exceptional. The Hoops have played six competitive home games so far this season and remain unbeaten with five wins. They’ve scored 23 goals in the process and it could have been a lot more.
Their two home games in the Scottish Premiership have been 6-0 wins against Dundee and St Mirren. Their only defeat in their last 16 home games in the league was against the Paisley Saints at the start of this year but they look a transformed team in front of a full Celtic Park again.
Kyogo Furuhashi has hit the ground running since joining the club from Vissel Kobe. The Japanese international has three goals in four league games but seven in total. His movement and pace has been a real asset in the first part of the season but he may be rested for this match having been on international duty for his country this past week.
Ross County Preview – Could County repeat their win from last year to secure first three points of the season?
Ross County were involved in a relegation scrap throughout last season and the man who led them to safety, John Hughes, moved on during the summer to be replaced by Malky Mackay who takes charge of his first management role in over six years. It’s been a real slow start for County under their new manager who remain in search of their first league win.
County have taken two points from their first four matches with draws against St Johnstone and Aberdeen. The latter of those was their best performance of the season and were unfortunate not to take all three points with the equaliser coming in the last couple of minutes.

Mackay will be hoping his players take confidence from that match and attempting to use the two weeks between games to work on implementing his own style having been hampered with covid during the close season and integrating a lot of new players to the squad.
County picked up two hugely valuable away wins after the split last season which essentially preserved their Premiership status. They also won at Celtic Park in the League Cup last November.
