It’s testament to the job that Tam Courts has done in his first season as a Premiership boss, that his team are in control of their own destiny as they go in search of fourth place and qualification to the Europa Conference League. United have a one point cushion over fifth place Motherwell with two games left – they will complete their season with a visit to the Highlands and take on Ross County, who could also yet finish in fourth spot.

There is no doubt this will be a deserved title for Celtic. They have scored 12 more goals than the next team, conceded eight fewer, won more home games and won more away games. Their form since the turn of the year has been dominant with 14 wins and two draws in 16 league games in 2022 – which includes wins home and away against their nearest rivals, and no team has been able to live with them.
