This is the first time Hamilton are playing Championship football since 2014 and they are finding out how difficult life is in the second tier of Scottish football. Brian Rice has lasted under a month before deciding to call time on his spell as Hamilton boss. No team has conceded more home goals than Hamilton who have allowed 13 in seven games. More than half of those came in the one defeat when losing 6-1 at home to Partick Thistle.

Raith were one of the most impressive teams in the Championship last season. Rovers finished third during the regular season but fell short in the playoffs, losing out to Dundee who were the team to be promoted in the end up. John McGlynn’s team could easily have felt sorry for themselves after that disappointment but they are once again pushing some of the more fancied clubs.
A challenging start where they won just one of their first four games appears to have been overcome and Rovers are now looking to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games in the league.

Raith have won five of those games and are only three points off leaders Kilmarnock as a result of that good run. It’s unlikely that Killie (or any other team) are going to run away with the title this time around, however, as Hearts did last season. The top five are separated by just five points.
Rovers form on the road has been particularly impressive. They’re unbeaten in their last five which includes an impressive 3-1 win at Rugby Park. McGlynn will be less happy with drawing way to Dunfermilne and Queen of the South more recently though, with those two teams propping the rest of the league up.
