Welcome to my World Cup 2018 betting tips, and Iceland take on Croatia who are top of Group D and have already qualified, while Iceland search for all three points here as they look to join Croatia into the knock-out rounds.
Iceland sit in third place and level with Argentina on one point ahead of their date with Croatia at the Rostov Arena, after they held the Argentinians to a promising 1-1 draw in their opening group match, but then suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in a match where the Icelanders would have fancied taking a big step towards qualification for the last 16.
Iceland now need all three points against group leaders, Croatia on Tuesday night to have any chance of being in the mix to emerge from the group, but they’ll need to be at the top of their game if they’re to do so, and take any half chances that may come their way in this difficult looking clash.
After two matches in group D, Croatia sit pretty at the top of the group with six points having registered wins over Nigeria 2-0 and handing out a 3-0 trashing of Argentina as the eastern European nation have merged as possibly one of the dark horses to lift the World Cup.
Midfielder, Modric, has starred in both of Croatia’s group matches so far, scoring against Nigeria and Argentina, and no doubt he’ll be looking for a hat-trick of goals when they take on Iceland this Tuesday as he also continues to pull the strings in midfield.
It’s not all been just about Modric though as he’s received important support from Brozovic and Rakitic, as well as the midfielders Perisic and Rebic with Mandzukic up front.
All in all, Iceland have been tentative in these World Cup finals so far, while Croatia have played with freedom and creativity, and so my betting tips suggest backing Croatia wiht the handicap here.
