Motherwell Preview – Can the Steelmen pick up first win?
Even though the season was cut short in Scotland, Motherwell did superbly well to pick up third spot behind Old Firm Celtic and Rangers last term. Well were strong, winning 14 of 30 league matches, scoring an impressive 41 goals along the way.
However, they have made a poor start to this campaign, failing to win any of their opening four. Stephen Robinson’s side started the season with a disappointing 1-0 loss at Ross County, which was followed up with a 1-0 home reverse to Dundee United on matchday two.
To their credit, the Steelmen have stopped the rot with back-to-back draws, but two points from a possible 12 is not the start that they would have wanted. After drawing 2-2 at home with Livingston, Motherwell held in-form Hibernian to a 0-0 draw at Easter Road last time out.
Motherwell are a very capable outfit, and they will be hoping to turn things around as quickly as possible. Robinson’s men are the big favourites in this one – can they seal their first three points of the season on Saturday?
Hamilton Academical Preview – Another tough day at the office for the Accies?
Hamilton Academical have been tipped by many to have a difficult season in the top flight. Like always, staying up will be number one priority for the Accies, who finished 11th in the Premiership last term.
Brian Rice’s Hamilton have made a woeful start to their 2020-21 season. After opening with a 5-1 loss to champions Celtic at Celtic Park, the Accies have fallen to back-to-back 1-0 home defeats to Ross County and St Mirren. With Rangers to come after Saturday’s fixture, Hamilton could well be pointless after five matches.
