Motherwell Preview – Are ‘Well set to make it a fourth straight home win for the first time in two years?
If you offered Graham Alexander the prospect of being fourth after Christmas before a ball was kicked this season he would have been only too delighted to accept. ‘Well were bottom of the table when Alexander took over last season but they have been a much more potent force this time around and will be looking to keep themselves in their current position heading into the winter break which begins immediately after this game.

Their away form hasn’t necessarily followed with only one win in seven but Alexander will feel that as long as they keep picking up wins at Fir Park they can achieve their aim of a top six finish at the very least. ‘Well did finish third in 2019/20 but that was seen as an overachievement at the time.
Tony Watt continues to lead the scoring charts in the Premiership on nine goals. Watt is out of contract at the end of the season and is already being linked with a move elsewhere. He’s also been touted for a Scotland call-up such has been his impact.
Livingston Preview – Can Livi continue their good run on the road?
The situation in the bottom half of the division is so volatile that a couple of good results for a team can make all the difference in determining if they survive this season. As it stands, Livingston look to be well clear of relegation worries following a three match spell which has seen them take seven points. Going back further, they have lost only two of their last 11 in the league.
That’s enough to see Livi sit in eighth place and six points above bottom club St Johnstone. A win here could actually put them with a couple of points off the top six come close of play on Sunday.

David Martindale is keen to see his team continue their good form before the three week break. Even a point here would be a decent result considering Motherwell’s strong home form. Livi’s results on their travels have been particularly good of late as well, though, with just one defeat in six – they’ve taken 11 points from that run.
