Ross County Preview – Will Ross County bring an end to a run of seven league games without a win to ease relegation worries?

Promotion is often followed by a fast start and that was the case for Ross County. Last season’s Championship winners were residing in the top six at the beginning of this campaign but a poor recent run has seen them slip down the table. The Dingwall club are now looking over their shoulders nervously as they creep closer to wards the relegation zone. They now sit in ninth spot and only four points above bottom club Hamilton.

If Hearts are to continue their improvement then it would realistically be County, St Mirren and Hamilton to avoid automatic relegation and the relegation playoff.

It’s now seven league games without a win for Ross County with their last victory coming at home to Kilmarnock in mid-December. That in itself is just one of two games they have won in their last 18 league games. If they are the continue that sort of form then they will soon find themselves rooted to the bottom of the table.

Livingston Preview – Can Livi extend their winning run to five in the league and six in all competitions?

A flux of key players may have left in the summer but Livingston’s season has been another really positive one to this point. Gary Holt and his staff have done a tremendous job in recruiting players and coaching them into the Livi style of play. They sit in fifth spot and are looking very good for a finish in the top six. That would surpass a good season last time out and beyond their expectations coming into this one.

It’s now four straight wins in the league and five if you include their Scottish Cup win over Ratih Rovers.

One of the most notable aspects of Livingston’s game this season is how many goals they are scoring. Since the turn of the year Livi have played four games and scored nine goals. Considering we have long regarded them as a defensive-type team it’s time people started noticing how dangerous they are going forward.

Striker Lyndon Dykes leads the line fantastically well for Livingston. He has scored eight goals in the league alone. Dykes has made a big difference not only in the goals he’s scored but also how ability to create chances for others. It’s a huge reason as to why Livi have scored 36 in the league after 24 games having netted 42 in 38 the previous season.

Whilst it’s County who are more in need of the points this is a match-up where I really like Livingston. Holt’s men have shown no mercy in their previous two games against this opponent and are coming into this match in tremendous form. I’m taking Livingston to make it five straight wins in the league.
