Welcome to my World Cup 2018 betting tips, and the other match in Group F sees South Korea taking on Germany with the Germans desperately needing all three points to ensure their place in the last 16.
South Korea have suffered two defeats in their two group matches so far in these World Cup finals as they’ve found it difficult to replicate their performances in previous World Cups gone by, and their highlights have been limited to the likes of Tottenham forward, Son who struck in fantastic fashion against Mexico in their 2-1 defeat.
The South Koreans had earlier lost in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sweden where their defensive frailties were exposed, and had it not been for young goalkeeper, Hyun-Woo Choo between the sticks, their margin of defeat may well have been heavier.
Onto Germany, and they pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat against Sweden as they grabbed a very late winner through Toni Kroos who struck a majestic curled effort after seemingly heading for just a point which would have been another major blow to their World Cup hopes.
Germany had earlier committed football suicide against Mexico when they lost 1-0 after continually and recklessly pressing forward in numbers, leaving their defence exposed on numerous occasions, and the Mexicans just picked them off and stole all three points as a result through hitting them on the counter.
Germany fell behind to Sweden in their second group match and found themselves 1-0 down at half-time but they clawed their way back into the game through a Marco Reus goal before stealing all three points from under the Swedes’ noses, proving you can’t rule Germany out.
Joachim Low’s side now need to hit the ground running against South Korea to ensure they make it out of the group, and my betting tips suggest the Germans will gain a lead before half-time and finish the job against the Koreans here.
