St Mirren just survived last season, finishing six points above bottom club Hearts. It could have gone to the wire, so the cancelation of the 2019-20 Scottish Premiership season may have worked out in the Buddies’ favour in the end.
St Mirren ended their season with a 1-0 victory over Hearts at St Mirren Park back in March, with Jonathan Obika scoring the only goal of the game. The Saints picked up a decent seven points from the last 12 on offer. However, they won only two of their last nine in the Premiership.
St Mirren are among the relegation favourites yet again. In fact, Jim Goodwin’s boys are priced at just 10/3 to finish rock bottom of the Premiership table. It will no doubt be another tough season for the Paisley club, but can they get off to a flyer by beating Livingston on Saturday?
Livingston Preview – Livi to get the win in Paisley?
Gary Holt’s Livingston finished in fifth spot last season, winning a third of their 30 league fixtures. Livi were beaten 11 times, but only Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell and Aberdeen picked up more wins.
Livingston put together a superb run of five straight league and cup victories from December to February. In fact, they won seven of nine. However, they ended up winning just one of their last seven across all competitions. After beating St Mirren, the Lions took just two points from a possible 12.

Considering it was just their second season in the Scottish Premiership, Livi did an incredible job to finish in fifth, which was their first top six finish since the 2001-02 season. Building on that will be a tough task for Holt’s boys, but they are definitely a capable outfit. Can they start with three points on the road this weekend?
