Following her somewhat humiliating defeat in the house of Commons, the odds on her in being Prime Minister by the end of January tumbled into half the price that they were. Before the vote, May had been at 4/1 but that price tumbled.

Currently, Paddy Power had held at the 4/1 odds* (betting odds taken from bet365 on January 17th, 2019 at 4:29 pm)

A Brexit Plan B is trying to be worked out with another vote to come at the end of the month, on January 29th. A loss there and the pressure would be mounting on May even more, who has vowed to keep in fighting. She has already narrowly survived a confidence vote this week.

The initial Brexit deal plan was shut down overwhelming by Ministers with 432 of them voting against May. While realistically a defeat was always expected, May appeared shocked by the sheer weight of the loss inflicted on her government. Now she is going to have another Parliamentary challenge.

The challenges have already come and she has survived. But is her tenure at 10 Downing Street coming to a end? It seems that the action at the bookmakers suggests that her departure is somewhat imminent. Is it more of a case of “when” and not “if”?
