Manchester United News and Form – Comfortable victory for the Red Devils?

Despite scoring just two goals in the Europa League, Manchester United have taken seven points from a possible nine to sit top of Group L. United have been very solid at the back, keeping three clean sheets so far.

After winning 1-0 against Astana at Old Trafford, Ole’s boys battled to a 0-0 draw with AZ Alkmaar at the Cars Jeans Stadion on matchday two. After that, an Anthony Martial penalty was enough to give the Red Devils a 1-0 victory at the Partizan Stadium in Belgrade a fortnight ago.

United won three away games in a row in three separate competitions before a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth in the Premier League last Saturday. Meanwhile, Solskjaer’s team have not won at Old Trafford in any competition since that Europa League victory over Astana back in September. Can they put that right this Thursday?

  • The Red Devils have taken seven points from a possible nine in Group L
  • Partizan have lost four of their last seven league and cup matches

Partizan Belgrade News and Form – Black-Whites to come up short in Manchester

Savo Milosevic’s Partizan Belgrade head to Old Trafford in patchy form. The Black-Whites have lost four of their last seven in all competitions, but they did thump Vojvodina in the Serbian league last time out.

Partizan have picked up four points in Europa League Group L thus far. Belgrade kicked off their European campaign with an eventful 2-2 draw with AZ at the Partizan Stadium. Milosevic’s men then beat Astana 2-1 in Nur-Sultan, with Umar Sadiq scoring both goals. Although last month’s loss to Man Utd was a setback, Partizan still have every chance of finishing in the top two of the group.

After playing United at Old Trafford in midweek, Belgrade end their group campaign with an away match at AZ and a home fixture with Astana. Can the Serbian SuperLiga side book their place in the last 32?

Manchester United vs Partizan Belgrade Predictions

Manchester United win: Ole’s boys have been nowhere near good enough at Old Trafford this season, winning only three of seven league and cup encounters at the Theatre of Dreams. Having said that, only Crystal Palace have won on their patch this term.

Victory on Thursday will take Man Utd on to ten points with two fixtures left. Although they will still have work to do, United will be in an excellent position to progress to the Round of 32. The home team should be too strong for Partizan on Thursday, so back United to be winning at half time and full time at 11/10.

As I touched on, the Manchester club have yet to concede a goal in the Europa League so far – only Sevilla can match that. I’m backing the hosts to win to nil again at evens.
