Political Betting – Farage to launch breakaway UKIIP Party?

Nasty Nige to return with UKIP Mark II?

There were suggestions over the weekend that Nigel Farage may find himself back in the midst of British politics. The suggestions are that he would form a “breakaway party” which Paddy Power have dubbed ‘UKIIP’ in protest of the ailing UKIP Party, should the controversial anti-Islam campaigner Anne-Marie Waters win the party’s leadership.

It is Farage’s belief that the UKIP Party would be finished if Waters get the hot seat and with the controversial Waters trading as 10/11 favourite to actually get the party leadership of the hard-line conservative and anti-EU party then it looks a strong probability.

UKIP appears to be a freefall at the moment and Paddy Power have a price of 5/1 that they will be disbanded as a political party by 2019. UKIP did terribly at the recent snap election with its worst ever return under the leadership of Paul Nuttall. Paddy Power have a price of 1/10 that if Farage launches a new party, that they would win more seats at the next general election than UKIP (1/10).

The company’s politics spokesman Paddy Power commented:

“It’s the return of Nasty Nigel, with UKIP Mark II reportedly brewing amid outrage at a potentially racist leader of UKIP. It must feel like the good old days for Farage.

“I’d expected to see him on Strictly by now, but big Nige clearly wants to force Brexit through.

“Poor old Theresa May has gone from dealing with a backseat driver in Boris Johnson to now having to fend off a fella from a different vehicle altogether in the Brexit process.”
