Online betting operator Unibet has swept up the “Operator of the Year” title at the EGR 2016 Operator Awards. This ceremony, which gives out honours to the best of the online betting industry was hosted at the HRC Artillery Garden and the Swedish-based operator Unibet took the top award of the night as well as further awar newsds of ‘Socially Responsible Operator’ and ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ for its multi-award winning “Luck Is No Coincidence” campaign.

A statement from Unibet Group Commercial Officer Ebba Ljungerud said: “This is a true testament to the great teamwork everyone in the Unibet Group contributes and how all of our brands and teams work together to achieve a common goal – to give our customers the best experience.”

Bet365 managed to win the EGR’s ‘Sports Betting Operator’ of the year award for the fourth year running and on top of that, the popular bookmaker claimed the title of the ‘Best in-Play Sports Operator’ on the night as well. The Stoke-based operator continues to reign supreme at the top of the industry, but Unibet will be massively pleased with their returns of three awards on the night to join Bet365 as the big winners on the night.

Other winners at the EGR 2016 awards included Sky Bet who successfully defended their titles of ‘Mobile Sports Product’ and ‘Mobile Operator’ of the year. Irish bookmaker, BetBright claimed its first ever EGR Award of ‘Best in-house Developed Product’.
