Premiership Rugby Preview – 1.00 pm kick off

Worcester are only holding a five-point advantage above bottom side Newcastle but have the chance to try and extend that at home on the weekend. They will be facing up to the Leicester Tigers who have been having a tough time of things as of late.

Worcester v Leicester Preview

The Warriors suffered a 33-47 loss out at Harlequins last weekend in a pretty exciting and dynamic game. That didn’t do their Premiership position any good at the end of the day though. That is back to back defeats that they have suffered in all competitions now, but in their last six matches in all competitions, they have produced four wins.

Only one of those four wins though were in the Premiership, a narrow 21-19 win over Bath back in early January, Bath having been reduced down to 11-men at one point in the game. One plus for the Warriors is that they have scored more tries than any of the other sides down in the current bottom five along with them. Any points out of this home clash would be huge. They start seven points behind the Tigers. The Warriors are 10/11 odds to cover a -3 handicap* (betting odds taken from bet365 on February 18th, 2019 at 6:02 pm)

Head to head

Leicester boss the head to head between the two sides. They are 11-2 ahead from their previous meetings. In those thirteen clashes Leicester have produced 48 tries to the 29 by the Warriors. The last meeting between them, back which in September saw the Warriors though collected a fantastic 44-37 away win.

The Tigers aren’t exactly in great form with a W2 L3 record in their last five games in the Premiership. In their last seven games across all competitions though, they have won just two though, and have lost their last four. Their last two wins have been in Premiership home games. They are on a four-match losing streak on their top-flight travels since a win at Northampton back in early October.

Worcester v Leicester Prediction

This should be a tight game and we are simply going to lean on home advantage being enough to get the Warriors over the line at 4/6 odds. It’s not even worth dipping into the handicap here, just backing the outright home success fits* (betting odds taken from bet365 on February 18th, 2019 at 6:02 pm).
