Alashkert earned what could be a vital 1-1 draw in last week’s second qualifying round first leg away at BATE Borisov, but despite holding home advantage in this second leg at their Nairi ground, they’ll be expecting a tough game tonight.
Alashkert saw off FC Santa Coloma in the first qualifying round with a 2-1 aggregate win, and they’re now seemingly in the box seat to progress to the third qualifying round in the Champions League following their heroic display in Belarus last week.

Onto BATE Borisov then, and they’ll still consider themselves well and truly still in this second qualifying round tie with Alashkert, even though they were unable to grab a lead from last week’s first leg at their Borisov Arena.
BATE possess vast experience at Champions League level compared to that of tonight’s counterparts, Alashkert, and they’ll need every ounce of this experience this evening if they’re to progress through to the next qualifying round of this competition.
If they’re to do so though, they’ll need to break an astonishingly bad away record which has seen them go 17 away matches without a win on the road in the Champions League. In truth, the vast majority of these matches have been beyond the second qualifying round stage of this competition, so they’ll still fancy their chances of progression here this evening.
