Football – Europe – Champions League Betting Tips

Across the other side of Europe, Real Madrid and Liverpool will take centre stage on the european arena as they contest the Champions League final at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine, as these two attacking sides are expected to slug it out for the right to lift the trophy.

Real Madrid will be chasing a third consecutive Champions League crown having suffered just one defeat from their last nine matches in all competitions, which was a 3-2 loss away at Sevilla, while away from home, they’re without a win from their last three on the road as they’ve drawn at Barcelona and Villarreal as well as the Sevilla loss.

Switching to the Champions League, Real Madrid have won their last four matches on the trot on their travels with wins at APOEL, PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich which is an impressive haul of wins in this elite european competition.

Goals have always featured whenever Real Madrid have been involved, sometimes at the expense of their defensive duties, but with the likes of Ronaldo (26 goals), Benzema (5 goals) and Bale (16 goals), who can blame them?

Liverpool come into this Champions League final having registered just two wins from their last six matches in all competitions which were a 5-2 home win over Roma and a final day of the season 4-0 home win over Brighton in the Premier League.

In the Champions League, Liverpool had built up a fair amount of steam on their travels as they’d collected convincing wins at Maribor 7-0, Porto 5-0 and a crucial 2-1 win away at Premier League rivals, Manchester City.

However, The Reds lost 4-2 away from home at Roma in the second leg of their semi-final against the Italian outfit, and although the merseyside club progressed through the final, they conceded 6 goals in the process!

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, will stick with his fab three up front in the shape of Salah (32 goals), Firmino (15 goals) and Mane (10 goals), but a midfield consisting of Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner lacks the creativity and flair of that of Real Madrid’s Modric and Kroos.

I therefore believe Real Madrid will win the midfield battle here, and along with previous Champions League final experience, they can lift the trophy again.
