Arsenal News and Form

Arsenal are sitting a lot prettier than they were at the start of the season with four straight wins under their belt in the league now. That’s a big upturn in form and the goals are flowing nicely from the Gunners. Arsenal have netted at least two goals in each of their last five games, and we can see this one getting up and over 2.5 goals. Over 2.5 goals is at 4/9 odds* (betting odds taken on September 25th, 2018 at 5:10 pm) because this does look as if it is going to be a high scoring game.

Arsenal have produced a W2 L1 record over their three home games this term, picking up wins in their last two on home soil. Looking at the game we are going to support both teams to score at 8/13 odds* (betting odds taken on September 25th, 2018 at 5:10 pm) for the game. Looking at the Arsenal defence it hasn’t been that great and is clearly a work in progress. They did get a clean sheet against Everton over the weekend, but that was more down to Everton lacking any clinical finishing. Arsenal are playing a positive setup with both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Aubameyang up front. Both forwards were on the scoresheet last weekend. The Gunners generally are a reliable home side.

Watford News and Form

Watford came racing out of the gates with four straight wins, but the last two games have yielded just the two points. Their strong winning streak was ended in a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United and then last weekend they lost a lead to end up in a draw against Fulham. Overall they look pretty competitive and in good shape, and they have hit the back of the net in all of their league fixtures this term. Because they are facing an in-form Arsenal side away from home, we are looking at an Arsenal 2-1 correct score option at 15/2 odds which has the most appeal in the market* (betting odds taken on September 25th, 2018 at 5:10 pm).

Watford have only played the two away games this season and have collected four points from those two games. That was a victory out at Burnley and then the draw against Fulham last weekend. Andre Gray and Roberto Pereyra are their joint top scorers with three goals each, but two of Gray’s three were on the road whereas Pereyra has not scored away from home. All but three of the goals that Watford have been netted in the second half of games. They have not been behind at halftime in a road game so far. So well they should likely be well in the game at halftime based on that. The halftime draw should have some appeal for the game in Arsenal v Watford predictions.

Arsenal v Watford Head to Head

The two of them each collected a home win last season in the Premier League. The Gunners are W4 L2 in their last six top-flight fixtures against the Hornets. Each of the last nine games between Arsenal and Watford in all competitions have ended over 2.5 goals so there is a big trend there. Both teams have scored in three of the last four meetings.

Arsenal v Watford Predictions

Arsenal to win: The Gunners have hit a nice stretch of form and the goals are flowing from them in one manner or another. They should have enough to edge a Watford side who have just lost their way a bit. Arsenal to win & both teams to score appeals.
