Aston Villa v QPR Betting Preview – Championship 13th March 7.45pm

Full credit to Villa for a big three points on the weekend as they beat league leaders Wolves to enhance their own chances of pushing for an automatic promotion spot. They need to follow it up with momentum at home against QPR on Tuesday night. The R’s are just stuck in the bottom half of the table going nowhere.

Aston Villa News and Form

It has been great form from Aston Villa recently with a three-match winning sequence going, thanks to a brilliant 4-1 home win over league leaders Wolves on the weekend. So that is eleven goals fired off now in their last three games in the league. Their home form is bang on point with a ten-match unbeaten streak of form going, having scored in each of their last seven there. Overall their record at Villa Park is W11 D6 L1 for the Championship season and they have won five of their last six at home, only a recent draw against Preston stopping their big streak. The Villains haven’t quite made it to an average of two goals per game at home but are close to that. At the back, they have conceded an average of under a goal per game. In the bet365 correct score market an Aston Villa 1-0 option is at 11/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 7:33 p.m. on March 12th, 2018) while the under 2.5 goals option is worth considering for the midweek action as well. They are still the four points away from second-placed Cardiff so have to keep churning out the results in order to keep up the pressure.

QPR News and Form

QPR are pretty much done for the season as they are going nowhere. They are just hovering in the bottom half of the table. They have won just twice on their travels in the league this season so a win here looks unlikely (D5 L10). So they are probably not going to be too much of a threat to Villa and they are on a three-match losing streak away from Loftus Road at the moment. In each of their last three away games they have conceded at least two goals and while a home win over the relegation-threatened Birmingham gave them a nice boost, it’s unlikely that their form is going to carry over into this one. Not too surprisingly the R’s have averaged under a goal per away game and at the back have conceded in all but one of their road games. So they have major problems. There has not been a clean sheet in any of their last five on the road conceding at least two goals in each of their last three. QPR have conceded an average of 1.6 goals per game away from home.

Aston Villa v QPR Head to Head

Villa took a 2-1 away win out at QPR back in November and that was their third straight one-goal margin success in a row over the R’s. So there’s a decent trend there. Villa are unbeaten in four league games against QPR now (W3 D1) and both teams have scored in just two of the last five clashes. Villa are W2 D2 in their last four home games against the R’s.

Aston Villa v QPR Betting Odds*

Aston Villa 8/11, Draw 11/4, QPR 9/2* (Betting Odds taken at 7:33 p.m. on March 12th, 2018)

Aston Villa v QPR Predictions

Villa have to follow up on that big success against Wolves and can be trusted to do so. Rangers just don’t have winning away from behind them and the one-goal winning margin for Villa has plenty of appeal.
