French Open tennis tips for Thursday starts on the women’s draw with a good match up.
Former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko produced a cracking win in the first round.
She hit a ton of winners to take down the challenge of Lucia Bronzetti.
That was some formidable form, but of course, this is going to be a tougher contest.
Ostapenko had lost five straight matches this season before arriving at Roland Garros.
So that win earlier in the week will have eased some pressure.
In the head to head with Cornet, Ostapenko is 2-2, the Latvian winning the most recent encounter in Luxembourg last year.
She may have enough to get past Cornet again on Thursday.
Alize Cornet was on a four-match losing streak before the French Open.
She beat Misako Doi in the first round easily, but that’s her only win in eight against top 100 players.
The French player has failed to win consecutive matches in 9 of her last 11 tournaments.

2022 French Open betting tips continue with more action from the women’s draw.
This one is an all-American duel between Danielle Collins and Shelby Rogers.
Collins had no problem beating lucky loser Viktoriya Tomova in the first round.
She did take her eye off the ball a bit in the second set, dropping her serve twice.
2022 has been a bit of a bust for Collins, with injury having limited her to only four tournaments since January.
Last year Collins won her first clay title in Italy, after reaching the quarter-final of the previous year’s French Open.
The head to head between the American players is 1-1.
Shelby Rogers won her first round match in straight sets but had to fight off half a dozen breakpoints.
She got across the line for her only win in her last six matches.
With only seven match wins for the season, Collins has to be the pick.

Nikoloz Basilashvili v Mackenzie McDonald: Daily Free Tennis Tips on Online Betting
2022 French Open tips move over to the men’s draw where Nikoloz Basilashvili is the pick.
He had to mount a huge fightback in the first round, fending off a match point.
Basilashvilla was 2-0 and was staring in the face of defeat against the big-serve of Maxime Cressy.
But Basilashvili dug in there to turn the match.
The Georgian failed to win in 10 of 11 tournaments earlier this year in a poor run of form.
But he has won at least one match in each of his last five tournaments entered.
Basilashvili is W1 L1 in second-round matches at the French Open.
Mackenzie McDonald took a four-set win in his opening match at the tournament.
It is a W3 L5 record now on clay for him this season.
As a positive for the American, he did beat Basilashvili earlier this year in Rotterdam.
His last two appearances in the second round of Roland Garros have been ones to forget.
Last year he threw away a two-set lead in his second round match.
But with Basilashvili having gone through a much more testing affair in the opening round, the American could have a sniff of an upset.

Ilya Ivashka vs Cristian Garin: Daily Free Tennis Tips on Online Betting
Cristian Garin took a while to settle into his opening round match against former junior French Open champion Tommy Paul.
After dropping the first set, Garin found his groove and ran away with the match.
That was a W11 L12 record for Garin this season.
Clay is his best surface but hasn’t been at his best on it in 2022.
But he did reach the third round of the French Open last year.
Ilya Ivasha has found little form this season, much like his opponent.
There were a couple of match wins on the clay last week in Geneva, however.
One of those was against Denis Shapovalov, who incidentally just crashed out in the first round of his slam.
So that undid any form to be read from Ivasha’s win over the Canadian.
The pick for French Open tips is Garin, as he is simply the better clay player.

Katie Volynets vs Elena Rybankina: Daily Free Tennis Tips on Online Betting
We look to finish off today’s French Open tennis tips with a look at what could be sized up as a banker.
Elena Ryabnkina should have gotten through her opening match in straight sets.
She wasted a match point and then let the second set slip. But there was little trouble for her in the decider.
Despite being a Top 20 player, Rybakina has failed to win more than one match at seven tournaments this year.
The first-round victory was only the second time that she’s beaten a Top 80 player in this current clay swing.
Wildcard Katie Volynets needed three sets to get past Viktorija Golbic in the first round.
She’s not far away from the top 100 at the moment and has done decency on clay.
However, we are still swinging to a clean sweep for Rybakina in the match.
She has never lost a Slam match against a player outside of the top 100.
Volynets is also only 0-5 against Top 50 players.
