Brentford v Millwall Predictions & Betting Odds – 19th October 2019

Narrow win for the Bees

Brentford v Millwall Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 19th October 15.00pm

Brentford and Millwall clash in an all-London affair at Griffin Park in the EFL Championship on Saturday. The Bees have made a sluggish start to their season, but Thomas Frank’s men are the clear favourites in this one. As for the Lions, they started life after Neil Harris with a stunning win over Leeds United before the international break. Can Millwall follow that up with a victory at Griffin Park at the weekend?

Brentford News and Form – Bees to sting the Lions on Saturday?

Brentford were tipped by many to have a good season. However, the Bees have picked up just three league wins so far, drawing three and losing five of the other eight. Brentford have struggled to replace Neal Maupay’s goals, as they have netted only nine all season, with Ollie Watkins scoring seven of those. However, they have conceded just nine also.

Brentford were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground before the international break. Since winning 3-1 at Barnsley, which was only their third victory of the season, the London side have taken a solitary point from a possible six.

Brentford find themselves languishing down in 17th place, as Frank’s men have taken just 13 points from a possible 33. With that in mind, Brentford could really do with all three points at Griffin Park this weekend.

Millwall News and Form – A tough day for the Lions?

Millwall were recently rocked by club legend Neil Harris’ departure from The Den. The former Lions player had been a huge success in the dugout, but he opted to leave just ten games into the new season.

Adam Barrett took charge of the club for the visit of Leeds last time out, and Millwall shocked Marcelo Bielsa’s men with a stunning performance and a 2-1 win, with first-half goals from Jed Wallace and Tom Bradshaw doing the business. That was the Lions’ first victory since beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at The Den back in August.

As Millwall’s search for a new manager continues, Barrett will take charge of the team. With a tricky game coming up against Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City on Tuesday, the Londoners will be hoping to bring in a new boss sooner rather than later.

After 11 matches played, Millwall currently lie in 15th position in the table, winning three, drawing five and losing three up until now. Can they cause another upset this weekend?

Brentford v Millwall Predictions

Brentford win: The Bees’ season has not quite got going so far. Frank lost some important players in the summer, with the likes of Maupay and Romaine Sawyers moving on, and only Barnsley have scored fewer (eight) than their nine league goals so far.

However, they have been hard to break down at the other end, shipping only nine times in 11 matches. In fact, Bielsa’s Leeds are the only team to have conceded fewer (seven). I fancy Brentford to secure a narrow 1-0 win (6/1) over the Lions on Saturday.

As previously mentioned, Ollie Watkins has scored seven of Brentford’s nine league goals so far. Only Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored more, with the Serbia international bagging eight goals already. Back Watkins to score anytime in this one at 11/10.
