Burnley v Brighton Betting Tips – Premier League 28th April 3.00pm

Brighton look to have done enough to keep themselves safe for the season and they dug out a point against Spurs in midweek which will have felt like a big bonus for them. They have a seven point cushion between themselves and the regulation zone going into the weekend. Burnley have taken one point from their last two games played having seen their winning streak snapped by Chelsea recently. They’ll be looking to get back to winning ways at Turf Moor though.

Burnley News and Form

Burnley’s fantastic five-match winning streak was halted last week as Chelsea collected a win at Turf Moor. To follow that up with the Clarets played out a 1-1 draw with Stoke on the weekend. Burnley have produced a good W2 D2 L1 record at Turf Moor in their last five there though, so may have enough appeal for punters to see them bounce back. They are on an eight-match scoring streak on home soil at the moment, scoring exactly two in two of their last three at home. In the Ladbrokes correct score market though a Burnley 1-0 is the shortest-priced option at 11/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 9:43 p.m. on April 23rd, 2018). You would have to imagine that this is going to be a low scoring game as Brighton aren’t a great offensive threat. So the Clarets have a good chance of ending an eight-game run of no clean sheets at home. Burnley have conceded 15 and have scored 15 goals at home this season in the top flight and only 29% of their games at Turf Moor have made it over the 2.5 goal line (but each of their last three have done so). 60% of the goals that Burnley have scored at Turf Moor have come in the second half of games, while they have conceded two-thirds of their home goals after the half time break.

Brighton News and Form

Brighton looks safe enough for the season realistically so they can be pleased with their efforts. They currently are not running in form though as they have collected just a D2 L3 record in their last five games, but one of those points was a great one earned against Spurs last week. Brighton have lost their last two away games in the top flight, and are winless in ten top-flight road fixtures. They have shipped a goal in each of their last five on the road and overall this season they have tallied just the nine league goals away from the Amex. Brighton haven’t managed to get a point out of any of their eight away games against the current top nine sides this season, indeed failing to score in any of those as well. Both teams not to score at Ladbrokes is at 4/6 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 9:43 p.m. on April 23rd, 2018). The Seagulls haven’t done all that bad at the back this season, but have conceded 59% of their away goals in the second half of away games. They have scored seven of their nine road goals in the first half of matches. Overall Brighton’s away record for the season stands at W4 D4 L10 leaving them with 72% of their points for the term having been picked up at the Amex.

Burnley v Brighton Head to Head

When the two met on the south coast back in December there was something of a predictable 0-0 draw played out between the pair. That was their first ever Premier League meeting and it leaves things no a four-match sequence of draws between the two. From the last six meetings at Turf Moor, things are even with one win each and four drawn matches. Just one of the last six games between Burnley and Brighton have managed to go above the 2.5 goal line.

Burnley v Brighton Predictions

Burnley to win: The Clarets have done well at home recently and can find some success against Brighton. Because the Seagulls will turn up and battle then it is worth backing the home side to get the three points by only the one-goal margin.
