Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 30th November 12.30pm

Lee Bowyer’s Charlton could really do with a win when they take on Sheffield Wednesday at The Valley on Saturday afternoon. The Addicks have slipped down to 17th in the EFL Championship table having won only one of their previous nine. As for Wednesday, they will be looking for their first victory in six games. Who will come out on top in this important clash in the English capital?

Charlton Athletic News and Form – Will the Addicks pick up first win in seven?

Following on from promotion from EFL League One, Charlton Athletic made a stunning start to their Championship season, winning four and drawing two of their first six games. However, since winning 2-0 at Reading back in August, Lee Bowyer’s boys have mustered up just two league wins.

Charlton have a packed injury room at the moment, with no less than eight first-team players unavailable. Because of that, Athletic have struggled for consistency of late, losing four and drawing two of their last six. On Tuesday night, the London side crashed to a 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Charlton are dropping down the table at an alarming rate of knots. The Addicks are in 17th place, just seven points above the drop zone. Bowyer’s troops will be desperate for maximum points on home turf this Saturday.

Key-Facts – Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday

  • Athletic have lost three of their last six at home
  • Wednesday have taken just one point from their last four away matches
  • Both sides have failed to win over the past month

Sheffield Wednesday News and Form – Can the Owls leave London with all three points?

Sheffield Wednesday have also been in poor form of late, drawing three and losing two of five since beating struggling Stoke City 1-0 at Hillsborough back in October. That victory over the Potters remains Wednesday’s only success in seven.

Sheffield Wednesday were knocking on the door of the top two not so long ago. However, Garry Monk’s men are now down in tenth spot. In midweek, the Owls battled back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Birmingham City at home. Overall, Wednesday have picked up seven wins, suffered six losses and drawn five times.

Two months have passed since Monk’s boys won 4-1 at the Riverside Stadium, which was their last away victory. Can Wednesday pile more misery on the Addicks by taking all three points at the weekend?

Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday Tips & Odds

Draw and both teams to score at 7/2
1-1 correct score at 11/2

Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

Draw: With neither side in good form, this one could go either way at The Valley. Charlton were incredibly strong on home soil on their way to promotion from League One last term, but Birmingham, Swansea City and Preston North End have already won at The Valley in the Championship this season.

As for Sheffield Wednesday, they have really struggled on the road lately. Monk won his first two away games in charge, beating Huddersfield Town 2-0 and Middlesbrough 4-1, but only one point from an available 12 has since followed.

This one has draw written all over it. Check out the very tempting price of 7/2 for the stalemate and both teams to score. I also like the look of the 1-1 correct score, which you can get at 11/2.
