The reported fee is £75m which is massive for the 20-year-old.

Chelsea going big?

This is amid the issues around the coronavirus of course, where the revenue of clubs have been hit.

The Premier League is due to re-start later this month behind closed doors and the expectancy is that transfer fees will be down.

But Chelsea appears to be ploughing ahead if the latest action is anything to go by.

Early on Tuesday morning, Havertz was around 11/1 at Betfair to join Chelsea, but by the end of the day that was down to 12/5* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 03:13 GMT on Wednesday, June 10th 2020).

The Blues are not the favourites to get the signature of Havertz however, as that remains Bayern Munich who drifted to 17/10 at the end of Tuesday.

Werner still in the works

Last week the odds on the Blues signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner were slashed to as much as 1/25 with some bookmakers.

The reports are that the Blues have agreed to stump up the £53m buy out clause that is in the German’s contract with his current club.

The deal is not done and dusted yet, but it does signal some big intent from Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.

Chelsea have already captured Hakim Ziyech for next season, despite the summer transfer window not even being around yet.

Chelsea odds-on for a top-four finish

The Blues return to action on June 21st with a trip to Aston Villa. They are currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table, three points ahead of Manchester United.

Ahead of them, they have third-placed Leicester holding a five-point advantage over the Blues. There are nine games left of Chelsea’s season.

Chelsea are currently 8/15 with Betfair to secure a top-four finish* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 03:13 GMT on Wednesday, June 10th 2020)

They are 7/5 to Not Finish in the Top 4. Chelsea are 4.3 on the Exchange in the Without Man City and Liverpool betting market* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 03:13 GMT on Wednesday, June 10th 2020).
