More struggles ahead for Everton?

Everton had a miserable time of things last season in the Premier League. They were heavily drawn into a relegation battle.

The Toffees secured their top-flight survival by beating Crystal Palace in their penultimate fixture.

Everton finished above the drop zone by four points, largely thanks to a burst of home form towards the end of the campaign.

During the summer they have sold forward Richarlison on to Tottenham, and the Brazilian was Everton’s top goal scorer with 10 last season.

With no goals in either friendly so far, it’s a clear area that Frank Lampard needs to address.

There is a current quote of 9/2 on Everton in Premier League relegation odds* (odds recorded at 19:00 GMT on July 21st, 2022 at Betfair). They kick off their new season against Chelsea.

Hassenhuttl in the weeds?

Another Premier League manager that will be targeting a positive start is Southampton’s Ralph Hassenhuttl. After a dreadful run of form from March until the end of the season, he is going to be feeling the pressure.

The Saints posted a shocking W1 D2 L9 record in their final dozen fixtures of the 2021/22 Premier League season. They lost five of their final six at St Mary’s.

Southampton had a slow start to last season, going winless in their opening seven fixtures of the campaign (D4 L3).

They may need to come out of the blocks a little quicker this time around as Hassenthuttl is 5/1 joint-favourite in Premier League Next Manager To Go betting* (odds recorded at 19:00 GMT on July 21st, 2022 at Betfair).

Can managers of promoted sides stick in there?

The three newly promoted sides, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Fulham will bring managerial pressures for their head coaches. It’s Bournemouth who are the current market leaders in Premier League relegation odds.

But boss Scott Parker is a bigger 10/1 quote to be the first newly-promoted manager out of a job next season* (odds recorded at 19:00 GMT on July 21st, 2022 at Betfair). Forest Boss Steve Cooper is also around the same mark.

It’s Fulham boss Marco Silva who is the most vulnerable in the market at a quote of 7/1* (odds recorded at 19:00 GMT on July 21st, 2022 at Betfair).

Can Marsch avoid early pressure?

Leeds only avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season and there will be a lot for boss Jesse Marsch to deal with. The Whites have lost two of their most influential players during the summer.

Raphinha has moved on to Barcelona, while Kalvin Phillips has been scooped up by Premier League champions Manchester City.

So that immediately raises the pressure on Marsch who is a 6/1 option in Premier League Betting – Next Manager To Leave Post odds* (odds recorded at 19:00 GMT on July 21st, 2022 at Betfair).
