The international break has seen both Norwich and Aston Villa make managerial changes with Daniel Farke and Dean Smith respectively getting sacked on the weekend.

Norwich have trusted Farke for a long time, but the Canaries parted ways with the German, ironically after he had seen them win for the first time in this campaign.

What are Norwich’s plans as they have a huge and somewhat unrealistic battle for survival on their hands?

Norwich are 1/6 odds-on favourites in Premier League relegation betting* (odds recorded at 20:12 GMT on November 7th, 2021 at Bet365).

What do Norwich do next?

It’s hard to know really what the plans for Norwich are. Their chance of survival this season in the Premier League looks very thin.

But they have sacked Farke, announcing that they needed to make a change to try and get Premier League survival.

Norwich are W1 D2 L8 and are five points away from safety already. On the weekend they beat Brentford for their first league win.

Lampard is the favourite in the Next Norwich manager betting

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is the even money favourite in Next Norwich manager betting odds* (odds recorded at 20:12 GMT on November 7th, 2021 at Bet365).

Lampard’s name has also been linked with the now-vacant Aston Villa job.

Lampard had a good season as Derby manager in the 2018/19 Championship which saw his stock rise in managerial circles.

He left Chelsea in January this season and has been out of work since.

Is it his Championship form with Derby that’s in the back of Norwich’s mind?

Lampard is associated with bringing in and working with younger players, but he lacks the experience of a Premier League relegation fight.

Knutsen to get the Premier League nod?

Making managerial waves over in Norway is current Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen who is a surprise name on the list.

He’s enjoying another strong season with the club and his side thrashed Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the UEFA Conference League this season.

Knutsen likes an attacking formation but this would be his biggest job so far.

Knutsen is a 13/5 option in the market* (odds recorded at 20:12 GMT on November 7th, 2021 at Bet365).

It would be a left-field selection if Premier League survival is really on the club’s mind.

Steve Bruce with relegation fight experience

Steve Bruce was sacked by Newcastle following the club’s takeover and is an 11/1 option in Next Norwich manager betting* (odds recorded at 20:12 GMT on November 7th, 2021 at Bet365).

The big asset that he has is that Bruce knows what a survival scrap in the Premier League is all about.

So the Canaries could call on his experience in that regard to try and preserve their top-flight status.

Smith becomes available

Aston Villa sacked boss Dean Sith on the weekend and he would probably be a tempting proposition for Norwich.

After taking over in 2018 he got VIlla up to the Premier League and has established them there.

There was an 11th place finish for Villa last season on their return to the EPL.

With Villa losing their last five league matches, however, the club gave him the push.

But he would bring valuable Premier League experience to the table.

Other names to consider

Former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca keeps being linked with a move to the Premier League since leaving the Serie A side in the summer. Nothing has prevailed for him yet.

Former Norwich player Mark Robins’ name has been linked as well. He is currently boss of Coventry, establishing them well in the division last season.

Coventry are currently having a strong Championship season under Robins, with the Sky Blues up in fourth place.

Robins is a 14/1 poke but it may be hard to prise him away from Coventry* (odds recorded at 20:12 GMT on November 7th, 2021 at Bet365).

There’s Nuno Espirito Santo available after his doomed-to-fail appointment at Tottenham in the summer came to an end recently.

Other names on the list include Steven Gerrard and John Terry, the latter looking for his first managerial job.
