After the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the movement at Old Trafford in putting a new boss in place has been a little slow but Next Manchester United Permanent Manager Betting reamins intriguing.

The club stated that they were only going to look at an interim boss to fill in until the end of the season.

They have reportedly approached former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde for that. But what are the club’s long term goals? Do they have a specific target?

Interim boss takes centre stage

Having missed a window of opportunity to get Antonio Conte, with Brendan Rodgers looking embedded at Leicester and with the out of work Zinedine Zidane not looking one bit interested in the job, options are a little limited for United at the moment in terms of a permanent manager.

So they appear to be going down the stop-gap route for the rest of the season.

That does send a little bit of a message that they have given up on any Premier League title hopes this season.

The Red Devils are currently 12 points behind leaders Chelsea and are a huge 125/1 quote to top the table* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on November 24th, 2021 at Bet365).

Instead, a sensible approach of consolidation and making it back into the top four has to be a target, which the Red Devils are 6/5 to do* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on November 24th, 2021 at Bet365).

Manchester United qualified for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League in midweek and they are a quote of 16/1 to land that title* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on November 24th, 2021 at Bet365).

Pochettino persists

Interestingly the rumoured links between Mauricio Pochettino and Manchester United just won’t go away.

The current PSG boss is a quote of 7/2 in Next Manchester United Permanent Manager betting odds* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on November 24th, 2021 at Bet365).

In his first season at PSG, the only title Pochettino delivered was the French Cup.

The club is in better shape in the league this season, running away with things in Ligue 1 at the moment.

Pochettino has insisted recently that he is more than happy with his position in Paris.

But he is there only in a head coach role and doesn’t call the shots in terms of transfers or anything reportedly.

Although it’s unlikely to happen midway through a season, would Man Utd be able to get Pochettino away from Paris in the summer?

Our betting prediction:
Ralf Rangnick
13/2

Is Valverde a viable option?

United have already made an approach to Ernesto Valverde about an approach to be the interim boss.

He was sacked from Barcelona in early 2020.

However, he did take the Catalans to two successive league titles and a Copa del Rey crown during his spell there.

Valverde brings some experience which would probably be a good thing for Manchester United right now as they try and figure out what to do.

Valverde, because of the reported links already is a 3/1 shot to get the job permanently* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on November 24th, 2021 at Bet365).

A couple of lively outsiders

There are a couple of lively outsiders in Next Manchester United manager betting odds. Those are Ralf Rangnick and Laurent Blanc.

Rangnick does appear to fit the Manchester United mould pretty well.

He was the former Leipzig manager who took them from the fourth tier to the top tier in Germany. He also got them into the Champions League for the first time.

Rangnick is currently employed at FC Lokomotiv Moscow as Manager of Sports and Development.

Former Manchester United player Laurent Blanc would offer United some vast experience and he knows the club well.

Blanc managed the French National team for a couple of years before spending a few seasons at PSG.

After some time on the sidelines, he was hired by Al-Rayyan in Qatar where he has been since December last year.

This would be a bigger calling and he had proven success with PSG including three league titles.
