Crystal Palace v Everton Betting Preview – Premier League 18th November 3.00pm

Crystal Palace have collected four points from their last two league home games and three points in this one against the struggling Everton would give them a massive boost. The Eagles really have to take chances like this. The Toffees battled out a home win last time out, but they have a long way to go before they to be clear of the mess that they have been in all season. This is a massively tough away game for them.

Crystal Palace v Everton Betting Tips

There is still a long way to go for Crystal Palace to secure themselves a bit of safety this season but at least their performances seem to be improving. They have gone W1 D1 L2 in their last four games, but they have collected four points from their last two home games thanks to a win over Chelsea and a last-gasp equaliser against West Ham in a thrilling 2-2 draw. However, those four points are all that Palace have to show for themselves this season in the top flight. They have netted only the four goals and have conceded nine at home this season in the top flight and 60% of their games at Selhurst Park have gone over 2.5 goals. Neither of these have shown any scoring consistency over the season and under 2.5 goals at William Hill is a price of 8/13. The Eagles have at least scored two goals exactly in their last two home fixtures. One of those was an own goal.

Palace have been trailing at half time in seven of their eleven league outings so far this season so they aren’t giving themselves much of a chance of winning much. Wilfried Zaha has scored two of their goals this season and he is the most likely to get one again for them. He has been their standout player since returning from injury. Zaha is a price of 6/1 in the William Hill First Goalscorer market. There is a price of 19/20 on both teams to score for the game but that would buck a trend before four of the last five meetings between the two sides have actually gone under 2.5 goals and both teams have scored in just two of those games. Just going back to their improved performances, on top of their win over Chelsea, Crystal Palace battled well and stood toe to toe against Spurs in a 1-0 defeat at Wembley recently. So there have been improvements and against a side who have been struggling it would be a big three points if they could get them. They have failed to score in their last four home games against the Toffees though.

The Toffees are still searching for their first away win of the season and have lost five of their last six games in all competitions. It has been a shocking return from them really and it just shows how poor they have been at the back. But at least they did manage to give themselves a boost before the international break as they beat Watford. They had to work hard for it though at Goodison Park, coming back from 2-0 down and snatching a winner at 90 minutes thanks to a Leighton Baines penalty. But again, it was another match where their defence was troubled. Everton have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three league games and should be troubled by the Eagles. Away from home, they only goals that Everton have scored have been in their 1-1 draws at Man City and Brighton.

A 1-1 draw in the William Hill correct score market is at 11/2 with a 13/2 poke at a Palace 1-0. Everton have lost at Chelsea and Man Utd so far this season and in their last away game they went down limply in a 2-0 loss at Leicester. Oumar Niasse and Wayne Rooney are their joint top scorers this season in the league with four goals each and they are a joint 11/4 price in the William Hill anytime goalscorer market, with young Dominic Calvert-Lewin thrown in there too at the same mark. It has been just the two away goals from them then and Everton have conceded an average of two goals per away fixture. They look vulnerable in this. That character which they showed in fighting back against Watford is going to be needed for their trip to Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace v Everton Predictions

Palace to win: Everton are not reliable enough to back and they had their struggles in seeing off Watford at Goodison Park last time out. The Eagles have to have their tails up for this one because this is a real opportunity to gain some big ground in importing their current situation.
