EFL Championship Matchday 9: Best Betting Football Tips

Bristol City vs. Norwich City: EFL Betting Tip

Dean Holden’s Bristol City welcome Daniel Farke’s Norwich City to Ashton Gate in Saturday’s early kick off in the Championship. Both clubs have taken 14 points from a possible 24 up until now. Who will prevail in Bristol?

Holden made a stunning start to life as first-team manager at Ashton Gate, guiding the Robins to four wins from his first four Championship matches in charge. However, Bristol City have had a little slump in form since, drawing two and losing two of their last four. Last time out, they were beaten 1-0 at Bournemouth.

Our betting prediction:
Teemu Pukki to score first
9/2

Norwich made a slow start to life back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League. The Canaries won just one of their opening four. Since then, though, Norwich have won three and drawn one of the subsequent four to shoot up to seventh.

This could go either way at Ashton Gate, but Farke’s boys are the team with the momentum. We are backing the visitors to secure a narrow win on the road. Take a punt on Norwich to win by one at 11/4.

Bournemouth vs. Derby County: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Bournemouth and Derby have had contrasting starts to respective seasons. This Saturday, the pair lock horns at the Vitality Stadium in league action. The Cherries, who are riding high in second, are the clear favourites in this one.

Jason Tindall has made an instant impact since taking over the managerial vacancy after Eddie Howe’s exit at the Vitality. Bournemouth are one of two Championship clubs left with an unbeaten record, as the Cherries have won four and drawn four of their opening eight. Bournemouth sit second on 16 points at the moment.

Phillip Cocu’s Derby have had a miserable time so far. The Rams have already suffered five league defeats this term, which has left them in 21st in the table. However, County have drawn with Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City in their last two.

With the way both teams have started this season, we can only see one winner in this one. This could be a stroll in the park for Tindall’s troops. Have a punt on Bournemouth to be winning at half time and full time at 6/4.

Bournemouth 13/20

Queens Park Rangers vs. Cardiff City: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Queens Park Rangers entertain Cardiff at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in Championship action on Saturday. In this fixture last term, QPR hit the Bluebirds for six in a 6-1 home romp on New Year’s Day. What will unfold in west London this weekend?

Rangers have been poor so far, claiming just seven points. Since a 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend, the R’s have drawn four and lost three of seven. The London side languish in 19th as a result.

Cardiff are unbeaten in five, but four of those have ended in draws. The Bluebirds have mustered up just two Championship wins, with both of those coming on the road. In fact, Neil Harris’ side have won two and drawn two of their four away league matches.

It was certainly QPR’s day when they last met at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, but we can see Cardiff getting revenge in this one. There is excellent value in City to win -1 at 4/1.

Queens Park Rangers 21/10
Draw 11/5
Cardiff City 29/20

Swansea City vs. Blackburn Rovers: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 9

Steve Cooper’s Swansea welcome Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn to the Liberty Stadium this Saturday. The Swans have made a good start, with the Welsh side sitting pretty in fourth. As for Rovers, they are the top scorers in the division with an impressive 18 goals to their name already.

Despite Swansea’s lofty league position, the midweek win over Stoke City was their first victory in four. Overall, City have won half of their eight games, drawing three and losing one of the other four. Can the Welsh side secure a fifth league win on Saturday?

Blackburn have had three massive wins so far – winning 4-0 (twice) and 5-0 – but Rovers head to South Wales having lost three of their past four in the Championship. They may be the top scorers, but the Lancashire side are down in 12th position in the table ahead of this round of fixtures.

The last three meetings between Swansea and Blackburn have ended in draws, and we can see the pair playing out an entertaining stalemate in South Wales at the weekend. Put some money on the draw and both teams to score (16/5).

Blackburn Rovers 11/5
