EFL Championship Matchday 9: Best Betting Football Tips

West Bromwich Albion vs. Queens Park Rangers: EFL Betting Tip

On Friday night, Valerien Ismael’s West Brom entertain Mark Warburton’s QPR at The Hawthorns. After three straight draws, the Baggies will be on the lookout for maximum points on home soil. West Brom are the bookies’ favourites at 13/20.

Albion are one of just two teams unbeaten in the Championship after eight games played. Ismael had made a solid start at The Hawthorns, guiding the Baggies to four wins and four draws. The Midlands outfit are sitting pretty in third place with 16 points to their name.

Our betting prediction:
West Brom to be winning at half time & full time
8/5

Warburton’s QPR made a good start, picking up three wins and three draws from their opening six Championship matches. However, they have fallen to back-to-back 2-1 defeats to Bournemouth and Bristol City. They did beat Everton on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek, though.

West Brom will be looking for all three points in front of their home supporters after three consecutive Championship draws. They should come out on top on their own patch, and we like the look of West Brom to win -1 at 7/4.

Blackburn Rovers vs. Cardiff City: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn and Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff do battle at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon. Rovers have lost just one league game and sit pretty in sixth, while the Bluebirds have suffered four defeats in their last five league and cup matches.

Blackburn head into this weekend’s Championship matchup unbeaten in four. Since losing 2-1 at home to West Brom on 21st August, the Blue and Whites have won one and drawn three. The Lancashire club are in the play-offs spots early doors, just five points off top.

Cardiff made a good start, winning half of their opening six league fixtures. However, the Bluebirds have lost their last two. After a 1-0 reverse at Coventry City, Bournemouth picked up a 1-0 win in South Wales last weekend. City have not lost many under McCarthy, but the Welsh outfit have fallen to four league and cup defeats in their past five fixtures.

These two evenly-matched teams have played out several draws in recent years. Both matches last term ended level, and you can get the top odds of 7/2 for the draw and both teams to score in this one.

Bristol City vs. Fulham: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Marco Silva takes his Fulham side to Ashton Gate on Saturday to play Bristol City. After two defeats from three Championship matches, the Cottagers will be looking for maximum points in Bristol this weekend. The Londoners are the odds-on favourites.

Bristol City have made a steady start to their 2021-22 campaign, with Nigel Pearson guiding the Robins to three wins and three draws from eight. Their only league losses have been narrow ones to Middlesbrough and Swansea City. Bristol City are in ninth spot on 12 points.

Fulham have lost three of their last four league and cup matches. Before a midweek EFL Cup reverse to Leeds United on penalties, the Cottagers were beaten in the Championship by Blackpool and Reading. Nevertheless, Silva’s side are in second position after five wins from eight league fixtures.

Bristol City will not be an easy nut to crack on their own patch, but we can see Fulham returning to the capital with a big three points in the bag. Check out the solid price of 7/4 for the away team to be winning at half time and full time.

Bournemouth vs. Luton Town: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 9

Championship leaders Bournemouth take on Luton at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Will the Cherries still be top after this weekend’s fixtures? Scott Parker’s boys head into this one as the clear favourites at 3/5.

Parker has hit the ground running at the Vitality, guiding Bournemouth to five wins and three draws from eight Championship games. Since a 0-0 draw at Hull City before the September international break, the Cottagers have beaten Barnsley, QPR and Cardiff to fire themselves to the summit.

Nathan Jones’ Luton have been their usual competitive selves at the start of this season. Since a shock 5-0 home loss to Birmingham City, Town have drawn four on the spin. Last weekend, they let a 3-0 lead slip to draw 3-3 with Swansea at Kenilworth Road.

Bournemouth are brimming with confidence right now, and Parker’s boys should ease to another home win on Saturday. Put some money on the Cherries to win both halves at the tempting price of 16/5.
