Leicester News and Form – Can the Foxes maintain unbeaten streak?

The Foxes picked up their first win of the season last weekend, following back to back draws. So it’s been a very solid undefeated start to the new season for them. Their win last weekend was a good one as well, a battling performance in a 2-1 success at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United. So heading into the weekend, Leicester are once again a top-four team. They look as if they are going to be hard to beat this season.

Maximum points out of this home fixture is going to be important for them. That is because they have some big tests coming afterwards. Leicester faces Man Utd, Spurs and Liverpool in three of their four following fixtures. Jamie Vardy opened his account last weekend as he got their opener against Sheffield United, while Harvey Barnes won the game for them with a special effort. There does look as if there is a lot more to come from Leicester as a whole, particularly in attack.

The Foxes sent out an almost full-strength side against Newcastle in midweek in the EFL Cup. They played out a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park and then won the subsequent penalty shoot-out. Leicester on a three-match sequence at home without conceding. They are on a five-match undefeated streak against Bournemouth as well. Under 2.5 goals has happened in 8 of their last 9 games against Bournemouth across all competitions. So there is where to direct your betting.

  • Bournemouth are facing an injury crisis at the moment

Bournemouth News and Form – Can the Cherries produce a win at Leicester?

There are problems for Bournemouth in terms of personnel. They have a huge injury list at the moment and Charlie Daniels joined it last weekend. Others who are currently sidelined for the Cherries include David Brooks (a huge loss for them), Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas. Manager Eddie Howe could have as many as 8 players missing from his squad for this trip to the King Power.

It is a four-point haul that Bournemouth have claimed this season. After an opening 1-1 draw against Sheffield United, they followed it up with a win at Aston Villa. They had to host Manchester City last weekend, which is usually a thankless task for anyone. The Cherries lost 3-1. So at least Bournemouth have scored in all three league games this season. However, both teams have scored in all three of Bournemouth’s games this season, so there’s been no clean sheet.

Last season Bournemouth had a poor time of things away from home in the top flight. They only took a W5 D1 L13 record on their travels. They finished last season’s campaign with a horrible average of 2.4 goals per game against them from their away fixtures. Bournemouth were also losing at half time in 11 of their 19 away games. If you pile up unconvincing away from with the number of injuries that they could be dealing with, then the trip to Leicester looks difficult. In midweek the Cherries won a penalty shootout to get past Forest Green Rovers in the EFL Cup.

Leicester v Bournemouth Predictions

Leicester to win: We would lean towards the home win in this one, but by nothing more than a one-goal margin. It should be a fairly tight contest, but the defensive qualities of Leicester, buoyed on by their good win last season, can take it.
