What a game this should be. The Reds will be full of confidence having produced a stunning attacking display in midweek to beat Hoffenheim and qualify for the Champions League and they will be keen to get three points in this big home game. Arsenal were rocked last weekend as they suffered a surprise away defeat at Stoke. Do they have a response in them because they will be feeling immense pressure if they lose this one as well?

Liverpool v Arsenal Betting Tips

It has been a decent enough start from Liverpool this season, with them again looking great in attack and shaky at the back. On top of the four points and four goals that they have scored in the Premier League so far this season, they put six goals past Hoffenheim over the two legs of their UEFA Champions League qualifier. They looked fantastic going forward in midweek in their 4-2 win over the Germans at Anfield. The Reds have scored thirteen goals in their last four home games against the Gunners so we can expect some goals in this one. Over 3.5 goals at Coral may well be worth a flutter here at a price of 11/8 and you have an option of both teams to score at a price of 4/9 as well. Liverpool have now suffered just the one defeat in their last ten home matches in the top flight.

In last season’s corresponding fixture against the Gunners, Liverpool recorded a 3-1 win which was after producing a thrilling 4-3 victory at the Emirates. So they have form over the Gunners and are unbeaten in their last four against them (W2 D2) and are worthy favourites in this game. Their defence can’t be trusted still of course and they are likely to concede which should boost the goal count in this one. There have been seventeen goals scored in the last three Premier League games between these two and Liverpool have scored at least three goals in each of those. A Liverpool 3-1 option in the Coral Correct Score market looks some real value going into this one. Liverpool have Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane joint 7/4 outright favourites in the bet365 anytime goalscorer market.

Arsenal won’t be too happy with their start to the season. They managed to avoid defeat in a massive comeback to beat Leicester in their season opener, but they fell to a 1-0 defeat out at Stoke last weekend. So they certainly have not hit the ground running and considering the goals that they have conceded against Liverpool lately, their back line could be in for another tough time of things. Alexandre Lacazette is up at a price of 13/10 in the Coral anytime goalscorer market for them with Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez around the 6/4 mark. But the Arsenal attack really struggled to make anything happen against Stoke last weekend, however, they are more likely to find gaps against Liverpool who play a more open game. But Liverpool put up a great record against the other top six in last season’s top flight. Tough afternoon ahead for the Gunners.

Liverpool v Arsenal Predictions

Liverpool to win: Arsenal’s defence has been a bit shoddy this season and it may crack under the pressure of the brilliant attack that Liverpool are capable of putting out. There will probably be goals at both ends, but Liverpool are favourites here.
