Manchester City v Everton Betting Preview – Premier League 21st August 8.00pm

Manchester City start their home campaign on Monday night as they welcome Everton. The Citizens collected three points on the road at Brighton last weekend and were dominant, but they will want some more ruthless output in the final third of the pitch to push on for the title this season. Everton have had a big summer of changes and they have been busy in the Europa League as well. But they haven’t quite brought their shooting boots to the party yet and don’t have the winning form at the Etihad.

Manchester City v Everton Betting Tips

The Citizens opened their season account with a 2-0 away victory at Brighton. They were expected to win by a bigger margin, but they just lacked a little bit of clinical edge in the final third. Other than that, they dominated the game well enough and it was a chance to get their new players gelled together a little bit better. Three points, after all, are three points and the Citizens do look a powerfully fluent side and they are unbeaten in their last four at home against the Toffees (W2 D2). Last season the Citizens struggled at home against the other top eight sides, winning just one of their seven games which was pretty costly to them. They only took a 1-1 draw with Everton at the Etihad last season and they also lost 4-0 out on the road against them. So you imagine that this would be fairly tight early on and a draw/Man City half time/full time punt is a price of 3/2 at bet365. The Citizens, of course, have their star firepower and Sergio Aguero is 4/6 outright anytime goalscorer favourite with Gabriel Jesus at 4/5.

Everton’s season began with a 1-0 home win over Stoke. They have done a lot of good work in the summer transfer market, but after losing Romelu Lukaku, are they going to have the punch up front? It hasn’t shown up yet but they have a lot of quality through their ranks now and Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez are around the 10/3 mark in the anytime goalscorer market for them. They had an extra game to contend with in midweek as they took on Hajduk Split in the Europa League so will that work against them? You are looking at a price 19/20 with bet365 on both teams NOT to score and in the Correct Score Market a 1-1 draw has been well backed at 11/1, but the shortest priced option there in the market is a 2-0 home win of the Citizens. Everton managed only the four away wins in last season’s Premier League and with the lack of goals around and having failed to score in two of their last four trips to the Etihad, will they be able to match the Citizens in firepower?

Manchester City v Everton Predictions

Manchester City to win: Everton will put up some resistance you would imagine, but the Citizens are a lot stronger this season than last and they can find a way to put a win on the board against an Everton side who haven’t been scoring freely. The Draw/Man City Half Time/Full Time bet has big appeal.
