Newcastle v Swansea Betting Tips – Premier League 13th January 3.00pm

Newcastle will seriously be eying up some more survival points in this home fixture against bottom side Swansea. The Magpies have collected four points from their last two games and in such a tight scrap in the bottom half of the table, it all counts. Swansea are five points adrift of safety and looking as if they don’t have the goals in them to put together a good run of form that they so badly need.

Newcastle News and Form

There has been a much better showing from Newcastle recently with the Magpies having picked up a W2 D1 L1 record in their last four league games played. The two wins that they recorded in that sequence though we’re both away from home leaving them with a pretty poor home record still. In their last seven home games in the Premier League Newcastle have managed to earn just the one point which was through a 0-0 draw against Brighton in their last home fixture. Newcastle have managed just the one goal in their last three league games in the Premier League and overall they head into this game with a home record of W3 D2 L6 this season. Their lack of goals has been a big concern for them and they have failed to net in six of their eleven home games so far this term. Under 2.5 goals at Ladbrokes is at 4/7* (Betting Odds taken January 10th, 2018 at 7.54pm). But still, in them taking on the bottom side they would have to be hopeful of getting a win on the board in this one and them doing so to nil will be a decent proposition. Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle heads up the anytime goalscorer market for the match.

Swansea News and Form

Swansea still have a lot of work to do to get themselves out of the bottom three. They managed to land three points in their last away game, as they showed a bit of steel to fight back from a goal down to beat Watford at Vicarage Road. Swansea’s record away from the Liberty Stadium this season is W2 D2 L7 and the Welsh Club have lost seven of their last eight road games. They have struggled badly in front of goal which is why they are in the position that they are in, scoring just the seven away goals while conceding at an average of 1.55 per away game. Both teams not to score at Ladbrokes is a 4/6 option* (Betting Odds taken January 10th, 2018 at 8.34pm). Swansea have failed to score in 55% of their road fixtures this season and overall they have the worst offence in the top flight with just the thirteen goals scored all season. Jordan Ayew is the only Swansea player to have managed more than one away goal this season and he is a 3/1 anytime goalscorer option for the game* (Betting Odds taken January 10th, 2018 at 8.34pm). Thy wouldn’t get out of the regulation zone with a win, but it would bolster their belief of staying up.

Newcastle v Swansea Head to Head

Newcastle have won their last two Premier League games against Swansea now after banking a 1-0 win at the Liberty Stadium this season. The last time they hosted Swansea in the top flight, they won comfortably 3-0 back in April 2016. That was a turnaround in the head to head form though as they had failed to win any of their previous seven Premier League clashes with Swansea prior to that. Overall from the eleven Premier League meetings, Swansea are W6 D2 L3 against Newcastle.

Newcastle v Swansea Predictions

Newcastle to win: You won’t see the Magpies at odds-on many times this season and that says a lot about how little the threat of Swansea is likely to be in this one. Newcastle should have the tools to scrape out a win in this one, even if it’s just by the one-goal margin. It would be huge.
