Norwich News and Form

The Canaries have been good value for money entertainment-wise on their return to the English top flight. Both of their games played have produced at least four goals. They opened with a heavy 4-1 loss at Anfield against Liverpool, but the positive from that is that they won the second half 1-0. Then Norwich came up big in their first game at Carrow Road in the league this season, as they raced away to a 3-1 home success over Newcastle. That was a pretty good response by them after what happened in the opening game of the season.

Norwich outright win
3/1

Teemu Pukki who scored 29 times for Norwich last season, is the hero of the hour as the Finnish striker has scored all four of the Canaries goals this season. He netted a hat-trick against the Magpies last weekend. He is a man in form and Pukki is a 6/4 option in the anytime goalscorer market* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 20th, 2019 at 8:15 a.m.). Clean sheets are going to be a tough thing for them to pick up, especially because they play such an open game (particularly at home), but they do look a real handful at Carrow Road. They have enough of a positive attitude and quality to put it on a pretty good show against probably anybody who is not Manchester City or Liverpool.

Chelsea News and Form

Given that Chelsea have managed one point only from their two league games played this season under new manager Frank Lampard. You can only imagine the pressure that the new boss will be feeling if they lose against the newly promoted Norwich. Chelsea opened with a heavy 4-0 loss at Manchester United on the opening weekend of the season. Then Chelsea could not hold onto a lead against Leicester at Stamford Bridge, the game ending in a 1-1 tie. There seems to be some considerable weakness in the Chelsea defence.

It has not been all doom and gloom though because Chelsea look as if they are developing a very good attacking style. One of the main issues along with their defence that they don’t have a prolific number nine goalscorer. Chelsea produced a W9 D3 L7 record away from home last season. Their form on the road dropped away considerably at the end of the campaign, taking just two points from their last three away games. So combining the action from the end of last season and that is a four-match winless streak that Chelsea are on in their top-flight travels. How will the Blues handle the energetic enthusiasm of Norwich?

Norwich v Chelsea Predictions

Norwich to win: If only Frank Lampard had a Frank Lampard-like leader on the pitch. Chelsea look frail, especially at the back and things are going to take more time to click. Norwich have played some exciting stuff and may be able to get something out of this game against a visiting side who look defensively weak. Norwich-Draw double chance.
