After a long wait, the 2021-22 Premier League season is now upon us. We have a cracking weekend of football from the best league in the world to look forward to, starting with Friday’s all-London affair between Brentford and Arsenal.

On Saturday, Manchester United and Leeds United lock horns at Old Trafford, while Liverpool travel to Norwich City. The standout game of the weekend is the Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City showdown in the capital on Sunday.

Premier League Matchday 1: Best Betting Football Tips

Brentford vs. Arsenal: EPL Betting Tip

Thomas Frank’s Brentford start life in the Premier League with a London derby with Arsenal on Friday night. The Bees won promotion via the EFL Championship play-offs last term. This will be a tough start for the west London club.

Brentford had a fine 2020-21 season in the second tier, collecting 87 points. They missed out on the top two but got things right at Wembley Stadium this time, beating Swansea City in the Championship play-off final. They have been tough to beat in their new home so far, but can they cause an upset on Friday?

Our betting prediction:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score first

After a disastrous season last time around, Arsenal have no European football for the first time in two decades. However, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners can now turn their full attention to the Premier League. Arsenal will be looking for no less than three points from this one.

Brentford could give several of the big boys problems this season, but we fancy Arsenal to come out on top at the Brentford Community Stadium on Friday night. There is good value in the away win -1 at 11/5.

Manchester United vs. Leeds United: Best Premier League Betting Predictions

Fierce rivals Man United and Leeds square off at Old Trafford in Saturday’s early game. The Red Devils thumped the Whites 6-2 in this fixture last season, but the Yorkshire side will no doubt be tougher opponents this weekend. This promises to be a mouth-watering matchup in Manchester.

United finished second behind Man City last season, going the entire campaign unbeaten away from home. However, they certainly had their troubles at Old Trafford. With the fans back, the Red Devils will be hoping to make their home ground a fortress again. Can they start with three points on Saturday?

Leeds were one of the surprise packages in the Premier League last season. After years and years of trying to get back to the top tier, the Yorkshire giants did not waste their opportunity, finishing ninth on 59 points. How will they fare in their second season back in the promised land?

Leeds will be formidable opponents, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops should start with all three points on home turf. Put some money on the Man United win and both teams to score at 2/1.

Norwich City vs. Liverpool: Premier League Betting Odds & Predictions

On Saturday night, Jurgen Klopp takes his Liverpool side to Carrow Road to play Daniel Farke’s Norwich. The Canaries are back in the top flight after one year away after winning the Championship title last season. City will be up for this one, but Liverpool are the red-hot favourites in Norfolk.

Norwich were outstanding in the second division last season, winning the title with a staggering 97 points to their name. They won 29, drew ten and lost just seven of their 46 league matches. However, they finished rock bottom when they were last in the Premier League. Can Norwich survive this time?

Liverpool made a poor attempt at defending their title last term, finishing 17 points behind champions Man City. However, they finished in strong fashion to bulldoze their way into the UEFA Champions League places. The Merseysiders will want to challenge for the Premier League title once again this season.

Liverpool may be on the road, but Klopp’s boys will surely take all three points from this one. We like the look of the away win both halves at 7/4.

Norwich City 8/1

Liverpool 8/25

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City: Best EPL Betting Tips on Matchday 1

Saving the best for last, Man City make the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. As Nuno Espirito Santo takes charge of his first Tottenham game, can the Spurs fans roar their team to victory? Champions Man City head to London as the bookies’ favourites, but this could go either way.

Tottenham had a turbulent season last time around, but they did book their spot in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League with a final day win over Leicester City. Under Nuno, who worked wonders at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Spurs will be aiming much higher this term.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City will no doubt be the team to beat in the Premier League yet again this season. They were strong on all fronts last term, winning the league and the EFL Cup, and finishing runners-up to Chelsea in the Champions League. Pep will want maximum points in north London at the weekend.

This heavyweight clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could go either way. We fancy the pair to cancel each other out, though, so back the draw and both teams to score at the top price of 22/5.
