Queens Park Rangers vs Charlton Athletic Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 21st December 15.00pm
London sides Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic go head-to-head at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium at the weekend. The Addicks made an excellent start to life back in the EFL Championship, but they have dropped down the table at an alarming rate of knots recently. As for QPR, they will want to bounce back from defeat to bottom club Barnsley last time out.

Queens Park Rangers News and Form – QPR to make the most of being on home soil?
Mark Warburton’s men were beaten 5-3 at struggling Barnsley last weekend. It was a cracker at Oakwell, with a Conor Chaplin hat-trick for the Tykes doing the damage. Prior to that, Rangers had won two in a row, seeing off Preston North End 2-0 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and winning 2-0 at Birmingham City.
QPR have dropped down the table in recent weeks, losing five of their last nine. The Hoops’ victory over Preston earlier in the month remains their only home success in five. The west London outfit have collected 15 points on home soil, with only six Championship clubs accumulating fewer thus far.
QPR were heading in the right direction after two wins on the spin, but last weekend’s disappointing reverse was certainly a setback. Still, three points on Saturday would put things right.

There has been only one draw between the pair in the last 20 years
- QPR have won one of five on home soil
- Charlton have failed to win any of their past ten (seven draws, three defeats)
- The Addicks have not won away from home since beating Reading back in August
Charlton Athletic News and Form – Can the Addicks pick up first win in two months?
Charlton Athletic started the season like a house on fire, winning four and drawing two of their opening six. However, Lee Bowyer’s boys have managed to win just two Championship games since then.
After beating Derby County 3-0 at The Valley in October, last season’s EFL League One play-off winners were sitting nicely in seventh. The club have taken just three points from a possible 30 since then, though, drawing three and losing seven. Charlton are now in 17th spot with 24 points to their name.
Athletic have lost half of their ten away league matches this season, securing wins against Blackburn Rovers and Reading. With Bowyer’s injury-ravaged team just six points above the drop zone at present, the Addicks could certainly do with a positive result in west London at the weekend.

Queens Park Rangers vs Charlton Athletic Predictions
Queens Park Rangers win: Warburton’s Rangers have struggled for consistency this season. The Hoops made a bright start to their campaign, but they have mustered up just two wins from their last past ten Championship encounters. After back-to-back 2-0 wins over Preston and Birmingham, they were brought back down to earth with a bang after a big defeat at Barnsley in their last outing.
Charlton have been hit with several injuries lately. Because of that, the team from The Valley have won just one of 13. QPR should take advantage of Charlton’s dreadful run of results, so I’m backing the hosts to win -1 at 8/5. Rangers’ last two victories have been by a 2-0 scoreline – they are available at 8/1 to win 2-0 again this weekend.
