Southampton v Everton Betting Tips – Premier League 26th November 1.30pm

There is just the one point separating the two of these in the table. Of the two, the Saints are holding a one point advantage but they have slipped back towards the relegation zone after having suffered back to back losses. Everton have at least managed to avoid defeat in their last two games but failed to beat bottom side Crystal Palace on the weekend which would have given them a nice bit of daylight between themselves and the drop zone. The Toffees will be at risk once again on their travels.

Southampton News and Form

Well, the Saints haven’t been enjoying a fantastic season in the top flight this term and they have taken only the one victory in their last seven league matches now. The win there in that sequence happened in an edgy 1-0 home win over the struggling West Brom back on October 21st. They have suffered back to back league defeats going into this one though having lost against Burnley and Liverpool. The loss against Burnley happened in their last home fixture. Southampton are W2 D2 L3 at home this season with just the one win in their last five there. They have been a bit lightweight in front of goal this season with just the nine goals netted and only the current bottom two, Swansea and Crystal Palace have scored fewer than that. Manolo Gabbiadini is their top scorer with three goals this season. The Saints are ticking along at under a goal per game on home soil this term and just 29% of their games at St Marys have seen more than three goals. Under 2.5 goals is 8/13 at William Hill. There should be value in the half time draw as the Saints have been up at the break in only one home fixture this term. Charlie Austin in the 7/5 anytime goalscorer favourite though.

Everton News and Form

Everton are still struggling to find their form and they have only picked up the one win in their last six league fixtures (D2 L3). They have at least upped their goalscoring output in their last couple of games with five goals netted across their win over Watford and a draw with Crystal Palace. They have failed to win away from Goodison Park this season though having only picked three points from three draws in their six road games. They have failed to score in half of those six games as well. Everton do have a lot of issues at the back and they have conceded an average of two goals per game this season home and away combined. Everton have not kept a clean sheet in their last eleven league games and they have shipped the opening goal in 75% of their fixtures this season. The Toffees do miss Oumar Niasse who has a two match ban now to deal with after retroactively having been found guilty of diving to get a penalty against Crystal Palace. Wayne Rooney is at 3/1 in the anytime goalscorer market. Two of their three road losses have been by a two goal margin.

Southampton v Everton Head to Head

The Saints have won three of their last four at St Mary’s against Everton so have a bit of form on their side in this one. Both teams have failed to score in each of the last four contests between these two on the south coast. They each won their respective home game last season. In the last seven games between the two clubs, only one of those matches saw both teams score.

Southampton v Everton Predictions

Southampton to win: The Saints have to be a bit of value here to pick up the victory because of Everton’s slackness in defence. The Toffees just can’t be trusted to even keep a low scoring side off the scoresheet as was proven in their trip to Crystal Palace last weekend. Home win and potentially to nil as well.
