Southampton are just in a sticky patch at the moment, with their recovery towards survival having hit a bit of brick wall. Southampton have suffered back-to-back League defeats against Cardiff and Arsenal which leaves them winless in four in the top flight (D2 L2). Overall this season Southampton have posted a W2 D6 L5 record at St Mary’s in the Premier League.

They are however undefeated in their last two home games, having taken a win over Everton and a draw against Crystal Palace. Southampton have tallied up 15 goals from their 13 home games played. 69% of their home games this season have ended up over 2.5 goals.

The defensive problems are still there for Southampton. That is pretty clear to see because they have only recorded the one clean sheet since the start of November.
