Swansea v Leicester Betting Preview – Premier League 21st October 3.00pm

The Foxes sacked Craig Shakespeare this week as they look to find a way to recover from their poor start. Despite having had a tough fixture list, the returns haven’t been there either from the easier games that they have played in. Swansea will have a bit of wind in their sails after having collected a good win at Huddersfield last weekend and will be looking for another positive three points to improve their season.

Swansea v Leicester Betting Tips

This could actually turn out to be one of the more entertaining games of the weekend in the Premier League, even though the quality may not be the highest. Swansea are sat on eight points from a W2 D2 L4 record this season. The Welsh club have been struggling for goals this term with only five in eight games. They breathed a sigh of relief last weekend because after losing their first three home games of the season, they stopped the rot with a 2-0 home victory over Huddersfield. So that was a great boost in confidence for them. With Leicester in a mess and struggling for wins and being without a manager at the moment, this could be a great time for Swansea to be meeting them at the Liberty. Swansea start this game two points ahead of the Foxes, so a nice gap could be opened up between them if Swansea can deliver.

Last Six Premier League Head to Head

Leicester 2 – 1 Swansea
Leicester 4 – Swansea
Swansea 0 – 3 Leicester
Leicester 2 – 0 Swansea
Swansea 2 – 0 Leicester

Last season Swans did collect a 2-0 home win over Leicester and two of their last three Premier League fixtures at home against Leicester, Swansea have won 2-0. In the Ladbrokes correct score market, a Swansea 2-0 result is a quote of 14/1 and the 1-0 option for the home side is in at 8/1. You could just cover the bases by going for Swansea to win to nil at Ladbrokes for a price of 7/2. Young Tammy Abraham has stood up well for the club because has scored all but one of Swansea’s five league goals this season and the youngster is at 9/2 in the Ladbrokes anytime goalscorer market. He is pretty much single-handedly carrying them at the moment. Defensively Swansea are not all that bad because they have a clean sheet in half of their eight games this season, but only one at home. They do have the best defensive record of everyone in the bottom half of the table.

Both teams not to score at Ladbrokes in this fixture is a price of 19/20 and there is a trend behind that. Only two of the last nine games between these two sides have both teams scored in. So Leicester couldn’t find any more patience and sacked Craig Shakespeare this week after he had guided them to a pretty poor W1 D3 L4 record in the Premier League this term. Their only success of the season was in their first home game when they beat Brighton 2-0. Since then they have been suffering on a six match winless streak (D3 L3) and they aren’t producing the killer tough going forward. It hasn’t been dreadful stuff from Leicester as they were well in big games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this season, only falling short by a one goal margin in each of them, but that’s not the big problem. They have drawn against Huddersfield, Bournemouth and West Brom in three of their last four games and the failure to win the easier games they have gone into this season was why Shakespeare had to go.

Jamie Vardy has a five-goal haul to his name this season in the top flight and his the 13/10 Ladbrokes anytime goalscorer favourite for the game on the weekend. Vardy scored a goal at home against the Swans last season. So Leicester are still awaiting their first away win of the season having collected a D2 L2 record on the road, but they have drawn their last two away games. Away from home they have been level at the break in all four of their games and a half time draw at Ladbrokes is big value at a price of 21/10 and that looks a really solid wager for the clash. Leicester still have a lot of questions to answer but they have to start digging deep and working to pull themselves out of this slump. They haven’t looked like a total lost cause though and had a pretty decent spine through the side.

Swansea v Leicester Predictions

Swansea to win: The Welsh club have a big chance to further claw their way away from the drop zone in the top flight. Leicester haven’t managed to prove themselves in the few easier games that they have faced this season and may struggle to get anything out of this trip to the Liberty Stadium.
