Watford v Everton Betting Tips – Premier League 24th February 5.30pm

Watford will be eying up a big three points in this one which could see them claw their way up into the top half of the table on the weekend. That would be something of a relief after the struggles that they have had, but still are only four points above the drop zone heading into the weekend. Everton are four points better off than the Hornets and have won two of their last three played but still look a bit shaky at the back.

Watford News and Form

Watford lost 2-0 at West Ham in their last league outing which leaves them sat on a W1 D2 L2 record in their last five played. Their returns from their action at Vicarage Road in this season’s Premier League is at W4 D4 L5 and in their last home game, they destroyed Chelsea. If they play like they did in that 4-1 victory in this one, then Everton won’t stand much of a chance as it was Watford’s best performance of the entire season, looking full of intent and menace. The Hornets are W2 D1 L1 in their last four league home games so that’s not been a bad return from them there recently. They have scored twenty goals in their games at home and have found the back of the net in each of the last eight on home soil. This game has the look of going over 2.5 goals at bet365 for the game as neither of these defences really look up to very much. Watford are without a clean sheet in any of their last seven and have averaged two goals against per home game. Both teams to score at Bet365 is going to have plenty of appeal as well. 69% of games at Vicarage Road this season have gone over 2.5 goals including each of the last five.

Everton News and Form

Everton have gone W2 D1 L1 in their last four league games however, the two successes were at home on Merseyside and their away from actually isn’t up to very much at all. The Toffees have lost their last three away games which is a big concern for them and they have still stuck on just the one away victory all season in the top flight. They have not been good going forward this season away from Goodison Park, managing just the nine goals. There’s nothing much which can be said about their defence either as they are without a clean sheet in any of their last seven Premier League games as well and in their last four road games specifically they have conceded twelve goals. So there is every indication that they are going to have a tough time at Vicarage Road. 76% of Everton’s points have been earned at home this season and only two teams have managed to pick up fewer away points than the Toffees have managed this term. Wayne Rooney is the top scorer for them away from home this season with a tally of four and he’s the only Everton player to have managed more than one away goal this season. It could be another rough afternoon on the road for them.

Watford v Everton Head to Head

Everton are well up in the head to head against Watford having gone W6 D2 L1 in their nine previous Premier League games against the Honest. Seven of those nine meetings went above the 2.5 goal line as well. However, Watford have taken four points from their last two league home games against the Toffees. Everton were 3-2 winners when the two met earlier in the season at Goodison Park.
