It has been back-to-back league wins Cardiff have taken in the Premier League recently. Those victories came against Bournemouth and Southampton. That six-point haul has left the Bluebirds just above the drop zone. Their win over Southampton who replaced them in the bottom three was huge.

Cardiff have a W5 D2 L6 record at home in the league this season and they have done pretty well really. They have handled themselves well games against teams outside of the Big Six. Four of their six home defeats in the Premier League this season have been against those so-called Big Six teams.

Watford have suffered just one defeat in their last seven Premier league games. So they have been showing pretty strong resilience. The one loss in that sequence was away at Tottenham. Last weekend they got through their FA Cup fifth round tie to reach the quarter-finals.

So it is all pretty solid from them at the moment and the main thing about them is that they are tough to beat. They are still lacking wins really with four draws in their last seven Premier League games (W2 D4 L1). Away from home in the top flight, they are at W4 D5 L4 for the season.

That away defeat at Spurs recently, snapped a four-match undefeated streak of form that Watford were on away from Vicarage Road. That loss at Tottenham is their only defeat in their last six away games. Only 38% of Watford’s away games have gone over 2.5 goals.

In their last away game, Watford managed to pick up a point in a 0-0 draw against Brighton. Only five teams in the top flight currently have a better defensive record than Watford have. It has not been all that spectacular from them, but they look well organised.
