Blue Mist 5/1 FAV in Moet & Chandon International Stakes Odds

So then it is BLUE MIST at the head of the market at a current 5/1 price* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:19 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020). He is an intriguing entry who is going to be well supported.

In four of his last five starts he has been a beaten favourite. Last time out he was 9th from a field of 19 at Royal Ascot in the Silver Wokingham Handicap.

It was actually a good effort and was a tad unfortunate not to have gotten closer. That race, incidentally was won by Chiefofchiefs who Blue Mist opposes on Saturday.

Blue Mist ran in last year’s renewal of this race and took a very good third place finish. He is down 1lb from that effort and Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle now which could be a telling factor as Blue Mist looks for a score.

EBURY
6/1

Coral

Ebury

Oisin Murphy is in the saddle for EBURY who is the current 6/1 second favourite* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:19 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

He looked in good shape when landing sixth in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot and that was at course and distance.

He got stuck out on the far side however and never really had a chance for more. This will be his fourth handicap start. Ebury is low mileage and there could be plenty more to come from him.

Chiefofchiefs

Totally unexposed at 7f is CHIEFOFCHIEFS who is used to 1m trips more than anything.

But the interesting thing was his performance at the 6f trip in the Silver Wokingham Stakes when he claimed the Royal Ascot success in what was the best run from him so far, and he beat Blue Mist in that contest.

What does he have at 7f? Punters are looking at 9/1 to find out* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:19 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

Shelir

There was also a good performance at the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot from SHELIR. He is an interesting entry here because of that good course and distance effort.

Shelir was last seen at Haydock trying to take on a mile which looked too much for him. He could potentially find his range at 7f.

Can Mutamaasik bounce back to top form?

We don’t feel that MUTAMAASIK can be overlooked for this contest, despite a really poor showing at the Bunbury Cup. He was well down the field in that contest.

It came after scoring a third place in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot over course and distance.

Given that he did win four times last season, he is well worth giving another chance to put things right against from a 7/1 option* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:19 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

Others to note

JACK’S POINT scored on his return when he showed up at Newmarket over a 7f trip. He was also in the Buckingham Palace Stakes over course and distance. Jack’s Point has been relatively low-key since then, but back at C&D could offer a threat.

ARBALET showed up in this race a couple of years ago and went close. He had a really good run out a week ago as well at York, when he claimed fourth place from a field of 19.

The last option that we will cast an eye over is ASHAASY who is a progressive 3 year old. He is coming in from a top yard trained by John Gosden and claims 5lb for jockey George Rooke. Ashaasy scored a win at Sandown a week ago.

Predictions & Tips for Moet & Chandon International Stakes Racing Odds

There’s a lot to pick over in this big field. BLUE MIST is always a very interesting inclusion whenever he is on the card. But because this is such a stiff contest, we feel that he can be taken on.

We liked what we saw from EBURY at the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and with a clean run under his belt, he should be pushing very close.

Another that we would pull towards is MUTAMAASIK to write the wrongs of a really strange effort at the Bunbury Cup. He’s much better than that and can shake that off to get something going again.

SHELIR also pulls into the picture for us in this fascinating contest. He was fifth at the Buckingham Palace at course and distance and he is now 4lb down from that effort. He could be a key player based on that.
