MINZAAL is the 11/4 FAV for York Gimcrack Stakes Odds

This exciting prospect secured a win on his second race track appearance. That was in a novice event at Salisbury.

That followed up on a lot of promise that he showed on his debut where he took a fourth place at Ascot behind Mohawk King.

Minzaal is coming up in class in this one but will he be able to turn the tables on Mohawk King who he reposses again over a 6f trip?

Minzaal is the 11/4 current favourite* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

Mohawk King is likely to pose a big threat

MOHAWK KING. trained by Richard Hannon who won last year’s edition of this race.

Mohawk King got himself off the mark at the first time of asking, securing the win in an Ascot maiden.

That win happened last month, keeping Minzaal behind him in that one. Mohawk King is a 9/2 option for this exciting juvenile contest* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

Yazaman a key contender

YAZAMAN is bringing some very good form to the table in this one and he has to be respected for this contest. The Willie Haggas-trained colt scored a win on his debut which was at Yarmouth.

Since then he has scored three straight runners-up finishes and it’s been some hot competition that he has been up against.

He has featured in the Windsor Castle at Ascot, the July Stakes at Newmarket and then the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood.

He is easily a key contender in this fixture from a 9/2 mark* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

Mystery Smiles looks for a hattrick

It has been a very good start for the Andrew Balding-trained MYSTERY SMILES who is a current 7/1 option for this fixture at York on Friday* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

He nailed a debut win at Windsor at the minimum 5f trip and then followed up on a furlong further when he scored in a Class 2 Chester fixture. There should be more progress and could feature in this one.

Unbettabelieveit has enough to contend

There has been great form from UNBETTABELIEVEIT so far. He opened on his debut, showing a lot of promise and then really kicked things on further and further.

He got his first win in a Doncaster novice where he just crushed the field and then found his short career-best with a win at Sandown in a Listed race.

Granted this is still another step up in class but he could be competitive from 11/2* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

Other to watch

DEVILWALA got off the mark at the first attempt as he collected a score at Haydock. There should be more progress to come and if that’s big enough he could have place claims.

LAUDED put in a very good effort to claim a third-place finish at the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood.

He scored impressively on his debut as well and his return to form at the Richmond Stakes clearly excuses a low-key effort in the Coventry Stakes.

Another runner in this field who is searching for a hat trick is SEVEN BROTHERS. He has won his first two racetrack appearances.

Seven Brothers shrugged off a penalty to collect a novice course and distance win in his last run. Will need to find more in this company.

Predictions & Tips for Gimcrack Stakes Racing Odds

We are going to lean towards MOHAWK KING for last year’s winning trainer Richard Hannon in this one at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Coral at 11:43 GMT on Thursday, 20th August).

He has a big chance of building on that successful Ascot debut.

The next that we will lean on is YAZAMAN who has been plying his trade in some big races. Based on the form that he produced in Richmond at Goodwood, he has a big chance.

The final name that we will pick up for this race is UBETTABELIEVIT. He has been ticking along in very nice progressive form and could make a bold claim in this one.
