Ebro River 9/4 FAV in Abernant Stakes – 15:00 Newmarket Racing Odds

The current market favourite in Abernant Stakes racing odds is EBRO RIVER.

He comes in at 9/4* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

There was a big success for Ebro River last season when he took the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

He’s the only runner in this field to have won at that grade.

Ebro River doesn’t get a penalty for that Group 1 success.

With two credible efforts after that win following, he should be strong as he drops back to a 6f sprint.

Jumby seeks a hattrick

Former course and distance winner JUMBY enjoys a spin at Newmarket and should be involved on Tuesday.

On his final run of last season, Juby took a win at Newmarket on a 7f trip.

That’s two wins and a place from three previous efforts at the venue.

With Willliam Buick booked, the presence of Jumby can’t be ignored.

The one question mark about his chances will be it being his first run of the new season after a long break.

Regardless, Jumby’s still likely to be a player from 5/1 in Abernant Stakes odds* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365)

Garrus looks like a player

Another to warrant respect for the Abernant shortlist is GARRUS who has Ryan Moore on his back for Wednesday’s effort.

Garrus was a dual winner last year, the second of those was at Group 3.

That pattern company score happened at Deauville in August.

He does bring the advantage of match sharpness.

Garrus had his seasonal reappearance effort at Doncaster on his return in a Listed fixture.

It was a credible run in defeat which puts him in this.

Garrus is there currently at a quote of 5/1* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

Bellosa has form at the venue

4-year-old filly BELLOSA kicked off her career in storming fashion, winning her first two efforts.

Those were a maiden and then a Listed run here at the venue.

So Bellosa can’t be overlooked as she gets the tongue-tie goes on for the first time. She will have her first run since December.

Bellosa is a likeable one and she generally travels very well.

She is in at 6/1 on a cut in distance to 6f* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

Double Or Bubble is capable

Although the final run of the previous campaign wasn’t great by DOUBLE OR BUBBLE, she has claims for Wednesday.

Last season she scored in August in a Listed contest.

Straight after that, there were back to back runners-up finishes at Group 3.

Her last run, which was here at Newmarket, could have excuses. The ground was pretty heavy on the day, not suiting her.

Double Or Bubble is capable at 6/1* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

The Rest Of the Runners

EXISTENT opened the season with back to back wins, having been switched successfully to springing for his new yard.

He could easily have had a hattrick under his belt at Lingfield on his latest but was crowded. Existent could be a player.

RUN TO FREEDOM is an unexposed sprinter but did win on the July Course last summer.

He successfully moved to 6f at the end of the previous campaign. Run To Freedom may just need to find more for this level.

Debut winner LAST CRUSADER didn’t really kick on from that opening success last season.

He did find improvement on his final run of the season at Redcar but likely needs a lot more.

Predictions & Tips for Abernant Stakes Racing Odds

This is a good competitive renewal of the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday, with claims running deep.

The first selection is going to be EBRO RIVER, a slightly obvious pick at 9/4* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

But that’s because he doesn’t get a Group 1 penalty and has to feature strongly if he’s tuned up well for his return.

DOUBLE OR BUBBLE warrants some respect in this one. On her opening run of the previous campaign, she scored here at Newmarket.

Double Or Bubble put in some good Group 3 efforts last season and can feature at 6/1* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).

GARRUS is the other selection because he has had a reappearance run under his belt.

He’s won both times that’s carried Ryan Moore as well. There are strong claims from 5/1* (odds recorded at 19:09 GMT on April 12th, 2022 at Bet365).
